That was strange, I tried to correct it and it reverted back to the original URL (the wrong one). Finally got it fix though. Thanks for letting me know. :thumbup

Just for clarification have we offered Romero Osby and is he considering us? I see on his Scout profile that we are missing fromhis rather lengthy list of suitors. Thanks.

Thanks.According to an article on rivals.com, we have offered him. The databases haven't been updated on both rivals and scout.com just yet.

Thanks a lot. He is a stud from what I have read and I believe I read where Coach Gillispie is recruiting him hard. Sorry no link and can't remember where I read it.

Verdell Jones is a new PG on the board. He's high on UK and is a 4-star rivals.com recruit.

Shouldn't Howard (Trey) Thompkins be on the list since he apparently has UK listed now?

Oak Hill power forward with Kentucky on list
Evan Daniels of KentuckySportsReport.com, May 2, 2007
Howard Thompkins is making a statement. After a solid junior season at Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill, the 6-foot-10, 225-pound power forward showed up this spring in great shape and playing the best basketball of his prep career. “I think I was playing great,” Thompkins said. “I’m playing at a high-level and I feel like I have the confidence to play with anyone.” Full Story

I only joined Wildcat Nation a little while back. So, I am new to all this up to date recruiting news. Is it common to have so many recruits with offers? It seems like the list grows everyday.
Just to make this clear... I am not complaining! Just wandering.

The list above only shows those who reportedly have a scholarship offer. I usually lean on rivals.com to confirm that they have a scholarship offer from the UK staff.

This isn't the largest I've seen but given that BCG and his staff have only been on the job for about 4 weeks now, this list is quite long. I expect it to grow a little more and than shrink down by early fall after recruits start narrowing their list and make verbal committments. Early signing is also in November.

I don't recall seeing this type of list in the past. There have always been names thrown around but we always seemed to be an "also ran". Now it is starting to look more like we are actual contenders. I think Billy G is working this very hard and the kids seem to connect with him.

Drew Gordon is dropped from the list. He is announcing his college choice today and KY is not among the finalist. A few weeks ago in an interview he indicated since the coaching change that he had not been contacted by BCG and his staff.
Unfortunate, IMO, since I thought he was a stellar athlete that has lightening quick hops. He can really get up and challenge a shot much like P. Stevenson only with a better offensive game.

It depends a lot on the school. Duke and Carolina tend to throw pretty small nets and get commitments quickly. Florida, Kansas, UConn, and (apparently) us cast much wider ones initially. This list is comparable in size to what we've had in the past, only these recruits are more talented, and seem more interested. And Billy G has only had a few weeks to put this together...

Sucks that we're no longer involved with Gordon, I liked his ability. West coast for him I guess. Billy G seems to like recruiting for upside.

Rumors flying about Warren and Clarke both visiting this weekend. Warren now has UK listed as a High Interest school along with Kansas and Oklahoma. Our chances look good.

J'Mison Morgan might be one to keep an eye on. Per Scout, he has an offer (but no interest); per rivals, he has interest; draftexpress.com also reports that he has an offer.

Ralph Sampson III is on the list at center as Scout is reporting that UK will get a visit. Scout has him as the #14 rated center and a four star player. Evidently, he is a very adept shotblocker who has improved his stock greatly between his junior and senior seasons.

He'll go on our list if it is reported he has a scholarship offer. I think after his visit, we should hear whether or not he was given one.

Sort of surprised we've offered Derrick Favors and not DeMarcus Cousins. I remember us being very involved with Cousins and him claiming that we were his #2 school after UAB. I didn't know we had even spoken to Favors.

Out of every recruit I want John Wall, the kid would be great in a UK uni and he has the PG skills to really make people around him better and that name has a certain ring to it and I just like him and he will be great and we need him
