i stated in an earlier thread how much i hated to see this kid struggle. listening to the game tonight on the radio it seems as if he's put it behind him. hopefully for UL's sake he can build on this game tonight.

there are some UL players i've just never cared for. dean, on the other hand, was one that always appeared humble and hungry. much like o'bannon and myles. the kid deserves a better senior season that what he's had so far. i think he is going to break out big time the next few games.

It would have been closer but UofL would have won this game with or without him. UC was horrible, a no show except for Hicks.

Congrats on your win against the Bearcats. You guys played with a lot of heart, I must say. Cincy really stunk it up. They are really hurting this year if all they can depend on is Hicks and Mohammed.

I listened to some of the post-game. Valvano asked Dean what he had been doing during his time injured. He said that his father had called him and said to sort of visualize himself on the court so that he would be ready when he came back.

Thought that was an interesting answer. Shows you what a class act Taquan is. I bet there aren't 10 or 15 kids in college basketball that would have given this answer. "Played a lot of PlayStation" would probably be right up there with "Just chilled out and waited to get back."

Taquan was actually visualing himself playing basketball. And you could tell that he was dead serious when he was talking about this. Very nice answer, I thought.
