Brooks did have some good news as starting left tackle Garry Williams was reinstated yesterday after being suspended indefinitely for academics. But two other players suspended at the same time for the same reason, starting left guard Christian Johnson and middle linebacker Micah Johnson, are still on the inactive list, and yesterday Brooks announced that freshman defensive end Jamil Paris has also been suspended indefinitely for academics.

Micah and Jamil may turn out ot be super-stars who play on Sundays, but right now, and this Fall, the guy we most desperately need is Christian Johnson.

What you talkin bout, Willis? We need all the players back on the team. I, for one. hope every on of 'em get things worked out and get back in the mix. Christian is a 2 year starter. He definately needs to be here. Micah and Jamil are very talented Cats who just need a chance to make their mark, to emerge as big time players. If you pair thereturning high octane offense that is expected with the hopefully much improved defense, this could very well be a dream season.
This will be the first season that UK is at full strength with its roster. Brooks had the guts to redshirt future star players. He had to win six games. His team won eight and also won their bowl game. Now, it is time to reap the rewards of last seasons sacrifice. The blow out loss to LSU was the turning point of the season. His team was riddled with injuries. He could of played some of the injured players or pulled the red shirts off some of the other players. Brooks did neither. He chose to lose the battle, with a thin roster, and win the war with a healthy enough team to win the majority of the rest of the games. Don't be suprised if we start hearing rumors of a Commonwealth Stadium expansion, after this years winning season.
