Hi, I became a new member to-day, another Wildcat fan in NC. I am originally from Mount Sterling, moved away in 1954 but have been a cat fan all my life, during all the ups and down from Coach Rupp mostly ups, Joe B. a few downs Middle Tenn, UAB,and of course the final four with Georgetown. Sutton don't even want to comment except he was in over his head, hope Mitch doesn't make the same mistake. Coach Pinto gets credit for saving the program although, this may be somewhat true I think he restored it more than anything else.Guess it is the way we view the process, but again it was mostly ups with his tenure as UK coach. As for Tubby he was close to being 50/50 with his ups and downs but I will go60 to 70%.

My major problem with Coach Smith was that he refused to change with the times. He promised a up and down game that was needed to get top flight recurits but he never delivered on his promise and one by one prospects went to Duke, UNC, or Fla. Or some other school who in the past would have considered UK first instead of last on their wish list of colleges to attend. I think my breaking point with Coach Smith was when the highschool kid decided to go to prep school instead of UK becuse then he would have enough skills to be recurited by Uconn. I thought this should have been the hand writting on the wall. Anyway hope I didn't make everyone angry at me on my first post and hoping for the best possible hire that Mitch can pull out of his bag of tricks
