Couple of really good pickups for you all. I'm sure they'll contribute early.

Another great day to be a Card fan. 2 4 star football recruits today, one of the highest ranked 3 star guys committed last night, and another 4 star guy is ready to pull the trigger anytime. Uk fans are stuck using women's basketball attendence as their best smack.
Are ya'll sure some of you wouldn't want to come over to the good side? It would be okay, you would be far from the first to switch their loyalties this year. There are 4 or 5 ex uk fans over on ITV now. We figure with a lot of help and guidance the brainwashing will wear off eventually and they will be like normal people again soon.

Is that really necessary? Give it a break. The UofL fans that hang here are pretty damn good folks (which is why I assume they hang here... this is a pretty damn good place:cool:) even if they have poor taste in sports.

Couple things here. #1 We are not in the cellar, we are mid pack...and still ranked #22. You see when you play in a conference where half the teams are in the top 25 there is no shame in being in the middle of the pack. I wouldn't talk, you are struggling with the "cellar teams" in the cream puff conference. It's a tight race between the cupcakes in the conference with a whopping two ranked teams. You lose to Arkansas and we are no more in the cellar than you.....in a pitiful conference at that.

Well, since I've seen enough of your posts to know you were just making a joke, I'll ignore the "grandpa" part of that comment :D. In all seriousness, you guys have reached the point where you don't necessarily recruit as much as you re-load, which is good and speaks well of how far the program has advanced. As for UK, most fans are pretty happy with recruiting, maybe even "very happy" is a better way of describing it. The thing we need to do is maintain continuity in the program so the players we recruit see a history of stability and not one of "shooting ourselves in the foot". We have, however, reached the point also where we need to start seeing some concrete results on the field. Whatever hindrances Coach Brooks inherited are gone now and it's time to cook or get out of the kitchen.

Actually, this is probably the best board of its kind I have ever seen. The mods actually seem to try to treat both sides evenly, almost all of the posters have a good sense of humor, and most of the "smacK' is done in a good natured sort of way. A lot of boards like this allow their "side" to go way too far and want to ban the "opposition" whenever they come up with anything really good.
To be honest, this board disproves what the average UL fan thinks of as the typical UK fan stereotype. ( though there are a couple of posters who try to typify that stereotype) Heck, there are even a few ladies that post on this board. Most boards of this type devolve into nothing but a name calling, testosterone contest of who can be the most outlandish, which drives most women crazy.

Amen. I love this board. The mods are cool as can be. I always told myself I would NEVER EVER post on a UK board, and here I am 600+ posts later. You guys are fun and thanks for not kicking us out.:ggrin:

TB,
Scout has UK at #31 with 29 commits and UL at #34 with 23 commits. Rivals has uk at #39 with 29 commits and Ul at #46 with 23 commits. You can only give out 25 new scholarships a year so UK is well over that limit which means several of your "commits" are either going to greyshirt, go juco, or not make it to campus. UL does not have 23 scholarships available so the same holds true for them.
After it is all said and done, the recruiting classes will be virtually evenly ranked I think. Keep in mind though, UL's recruiting classes are typically ranked lower then they should be becuase it is UL. This will undoubtedly be our best class ever, and it will not end up near being ranked a top 25 class.

We have a full allotment of 25 scholarships to give, but we have maybe four greyshirts from last year which means we will have a few go the Juco or Prep School route and a few agree to a greyshirt.I believe Chris Cessna and Paul Warford will greyshirt due to senior year injuries andbecause ofin-state tuition KY players are the best greyshirt cadnidates. I can't speculate on the possible non-qualifiers.
I've heard thatUL hasonly 16 avaliable scholarships which means at least seven will not qualify or greyshirt. Does UL have any greyshirts taking any of this years scolarships and do you have some obvious greyshirt candidates in this years class? If so I sure hope your coaches handle the greyshirts better than the couple thathave been cause for some recent UL negative greyshirt issues.
(PS:Sitting here getting ready to go to the boat show and watching the UL/Rutgers game andbecoming a big Rutgers BBall fan. Just watched Pitino do a Mike Davis Chicken Dance over when the Rutgers player faked the UL team off with a fake foul shot)
