A group of hunters were gathered around the camp fire, sharing stories of hunts, deer, and shots both made and missed. Finally the subject of worst days hunting came up, and each had his story to tell. One talked of miserable rain for a solid week; another of brutal cold and high winds.
Finally, Frank had his turn.
It seems some six years earlier he and his father-in-law Bill had been out deer hunting together. Miles from anywhere, Bill had a heart attack. Bill was over weight, and everyone knew that someday his heart was going to give out on him.
Mercifully, he died almost instantly, but Frank was stuck there, no cell phone, his truck a couple of miles away back at camp.
"How'd you get your father-in-law back to your truck?" one of his fellow hunters asked.
"I had to drag him. He was just too heavy to carry," Frank replied.
"That must have been tough," another surmised.
"Yeah," Frank said, "but it got easier after I field dressed him."
