Brohm: looked like crap, got picked off 3 times and several passes knocked down
Cantwell: unreal, serious zip and threw darts the entire practice
RB:Anthony Allen: stud,,will help us forget about Bush real quick.
WR: 6'8 Chichester ran some great routs and made some great catches,
Receivers as a group, the best we've ever had here ever.
Running Backs: AA and Stripling will get most of the carries, look for Bolen to block and run as well.
DB's ....let the receivers get behind themway too many timesand could be the weakest link on the team this year.
O and D Lineman, won't know until they go full out
Kicking Game: both guys back, Great Kicker ok punter.
Look for UofL to stretchDefenses this year. The longest drilltoday waslong ball after long ball...WR vs DB's and corners.
LB's this should be the strength of the D once Willie Williamsgets here.
That's about all there is, way too early to know much other than we have a great QB and somegreat targets. The line will still have to protect BB or it won't matter. Still a lot of questions marks
As for the Coach and his practice, a little more laid back than the Stalin esq practicePetrino use to have. Not sure if thats good or bad yet...
I know most of you don't care but there might be a few that wanted to know.
Surprised there isn't a break down ofone ofuk's practices on here yet...

Think there might be a spring QB controversy in the 'Ville?

haha, no but I can't believe Cantwell has stayed at UofL knowing he will only play his Sr year. The kids got a cannon, if he learns to readthe D better he might have a future in the NFL.
BTW, last year first day Brohm looked horrible. I don'tthink he likes spring practices, he's more of a gamer...

No kidding. You'd think that UK was trying to hire a basketball coach or something....

Petrino was known of his tightly run practices, getting the most out of the time allotted. Fans appreciated that fact, as we posted on this site many a time. I know some UL fans who have been anxiously waiting to see if Krag will run as professional a practice. It's one of the first hints they have to see if Krag is their man.

"DB's ....let the receivers get behind themway too many timesand could be the weakest link on the team this year."
Based on your observation here should Woodson, Burton, Lyons and the gang be salivating?
This years game should be much more competitive than in recent years. I am anxious to see how our defense fares this year, in reality though this game looks to be a shootout.

Could be. I think you guys will score but can you score enough? Thatis the million dollar question.
Laid back is now officially better at UL. Petrino was actually like Joselph Stalin (Pappa Joe or butcher of Ukraine?) and U of L offense isfine without Michael Bush. Good to know.
Interesting that there was no mention of the assistant coaches. Are they more laid-back, or has coach K just taken a wait-and-see attitude before cutting them loose? Coach K may not be as sold on Brohm and his laid-back attitude. Last time I heard, the quarterback generally sets the tone as team leader. Cantwell didn't lose a game as I recall, and he evidently thinks spring practice is important.
The offensive line, defensive line and defensive secondary accounts for about half the positions on the team (on most teams anyway). So if there are questions there, the glass may be half empty. So much for the cardinal rose colored glasses.
Check the Jefferson county jail roster first for futurelineup changes.

Hazard or Corbin?
Neither, but you guessed the accent correctly.

haha, man this wasn't smack, just thought some might want to know and I know I'm no sports journalist. And careful about smacking our players around with breaking the law, from building bombs to flashing kids your program has a few run ins with the law as well as they all do.
Tuesday will be a scrimmage so will get a better picture of what the O and D lines will be like, it's open to the public you should come..;)

While no program is squeaky clean there is absolutely NO DOUBT that ul leads UK in the category of 'felon participation'so remember where you are.

It's this kind of stuff why I avoid getting into a discussion with supporters of other teams. I find ignoring them the most effective.

I have not yet nor do I plan to drive down to any Spring practices this year. I have spoken to a few folks on the phone that have attended and they pretty much say the same thing.
1) The absence of Bobby and Paul Petrino running around screaming their lungs out and dropping F-bombs at every opportunity is very noticeable if not refreshing. One fellow stated to me he was going to take his son to a practice, something he was unable to do with the former staff in place.
2) As RickdaCatkiller said, Cantwell has looked very good. Brohm appears to be “skating”.
3) Harry Douglas at WR is a legit AA candidate, probably better at this stage than Deion Branch and Ernest Givens were.
4) O line is a work in progress as is usually the case in the Spring, the D line has pushed them around.
5) Charlie Stubbs is the guy running the show as the offensive coordinator, with very little help from “passing game coordinator” Jeff Brohm. Stubbs will be calling the plays, Jeff is a glorified assistant. Not a knock on Jeff, just what it is.
6) Willie Williams, although not practicing without any doubt passes the “look test”. Also no reports of any missing fire extinguishers or unwanted “hugs” from UL coeds.

I, for one, enjoy most of rick's posts.
Though I'd rather beat UofL than bed Ashley, it's good to hear what's goin' on at the Ville.
Thanks (usually) to rick and R&B.

Thanks mel, RV just needs to have a :beer:with me and he would warm up. Have to admit this year I am not near as confident in our game against the Cats. They have closed the gap, so you won't hear near as muchsmack talk on my end prior to the game. We have way too many unanswered questions and a new coach tobreak in. Brohm and Woodson could be the best QB's in any state this year including Florida. Should be a fun ride.

RV can dish it out with the best of them, which is fine. Most importantly he certainly knows and followscollege football with a passion. We (UL posters) are in thier house, I wouldn't expect our contibutions to the board to be always greeted with wine and roses.
