I like 98% of Kentucky fans would love to see Billy D. on his way to Kentucky as early as Wednesday to work out his contract with the team, but let's just say that he doesnt take the job. Who do we go after then? Is it a coach full of excitement and energy who pressess from start to finish and loves the inside/outside game or is it one who concentrates souly on winning and it doesnt matter to us if the score is 40-38 as long as we win. I think we are going to be hard pressed to find a coach the caliber of Donovan if he decides not to take it. I mean with the exception of Roy Williams, I believe Donovan is the best recruiting coach in the nation. So do we switch to a younger type coach with some Pitino background, or do we offer the job to someone else. Let me know what is happening today with the coaching situation.

I really can't fault BD if he decides to stay after reading about everything that he has done in the Gainesville Community. He has a lot of factors to consider outside of basketball in this decision. UK will hire a coach and will be back in the championship hunt very soon. If that coach is BD, then most UK fans will be happy. If he decides to stay at UF, then we hire our next best option.

Our advantage with BD is that he has been here before and knows the potential of the program. He also knows that if he doesn't take the job someone else will.

I agree, no matter what, a change at uk will do it good. I still think the Kid is coming though.

Maybe not the best for UK, but it might be best for the SEC in general.

FWIW, I think a lot of us agree with you. If Donovan doesn't come, I think we can still get a fine coach, but there is definitely a gap there. Like you, I think a lot of Donovan'sappeal ishis ability to recruit, and I also put him up there with Roy Williams in that area(the one who has so hurt UK recently, by the way).
