Something to chew on if you're Billy Donovan and like national exposure:

I'm defining national exposure as network games or ESPN games.

Last season Florida (and this was coming off a National Championship) had 2 pre-conference games on national TV and 6 conference game on national TV.

Last season Kentucky (coming off a poor season and a early out in the NCAA the previous year) had 6 pre-conference games on national TV and 6 conference games on national TV.

Some food for thought .... so who does the media recognize as having the ability to draw a national audience. Hmm.......

According to several, we are irrelevant... why then do those same talkers' networks continue to put us on national TV?

We are relevant, they just don't want us to be.

For all the comments from the idiot talking heads there have been and always will be the same reasons recruits choose schools. There are exceptions, but they are just that.

If you are a highly sought after high school recruit that wants to play in the NBA, you are looking for exposure and playing time. You need both even in this day and age. You are selling yourself and to get the stock up, you need to do it.

Kids will go to Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, and Kentucky because of TV time and print space. In a good season, we get at least 12 games. Also, that doesnt take into account tournament games. The kids want the press, the TV, and the fan base. Dick V can say what he wants but those things will always matter.
