I just saw on ESPNNews that Stan Heath will be the new coach of South Florida.

This is a great hire for those USF bulls.

I thought so too. Very tough situation at Arkansas. I think he'll do well at USF.

He had a great opportunity at ARK and had minimal results. No reason to think he will do well at USF.

I'm with Phoenix. Other than one miracle run with a team he inherited from another coach (sound familiar?) what has Heath actually accomplished?

Been paying close attn to all this coaching carousel, like the rest of UK nation. But, somehow missed why John Pelphry didn't take the USF job...thought he had been offered and was likely to accept...?

USF, here in Tampa, is an extremely tough place to recruit from. You have to fight with Miami, Florida State AND Florida for the local talent, but yet you compete in a league that has great talent too.

I heard that is why Pelph didn't take it. And I wish Stan Heath the best of luck, he's going to need it.

Yep. USF is a deadzone in college basketball. Gonna be tough for Heath to succeed.

Other than a mini Kent State run in the 02 tournament to the Elite 8 that ended up in a loss at Rupp to IU sending the Hoosiers to the FF, what has he accomplished?
