ESPN portraying that Barnes turned us down, but there has never been a news report that UK has requested permission to speak with Barnes. Some of the ESPN dudes really like to pile it on. I really think that Mitch has the guy he has wanted all along. Why else would the search firm alreadynot consider us clients anymore?

Maybe if barnes was a better coach he could have really used Durrant better. Every major sports writer said in the tournament, he was being under utilized.

It isn't their fault for turning down the best job in college, it is the media's fault for asking every single coach in the league if they want it. So when a coach says they don't, they aren't doing it to necessarily knock KY, they are just answering the questions.

And BD, it was all about the money if you ask me. He played tennis with his words for two weeks only to get that extra million on his new contract at FL. I'd almost bet a few thousand that it is already written and approved, just not announced.

I haven't really seen the portrayal of Barnes turning us down. It looks more to me like they're portraying us as crazy rabid fans...which we are. I view that in a good light. ESPN seems to think it's just...well...crazy.

Of course, there'd be some kind of spin about how this shows our "passion" and "love" if it were Dook...but no, we're just a bunch of rednecks here in Kentucky who run off black folk because we're all racist and unreasonable.

I'd like to see some hard evidence that Barnes was actually offered the position. I would guess that he simply told an inquiring reporter that he was not interested which was turned into a "He turned it Down".

I'm all for that other guy from Texas, That other Billy. :thumbup:wildcatface

Why the hell not?

Joe B would be a helluva better interim coach than whatever we are going to end up with unless they do what they should and hire Pelphrey...
