You have seen a racecar in your lifetime, haven't you ? I think the crew chief is the problem. This has been the worst season, i can remember for him in a long long long time. I didn't think he and his new crew chief meshed from the begining.

Crew chiefs have a lot to do with it, no doubt. Just ask Tony Stewart. Junior obviously didn't mesh with his crew chief at the start of the seasonas that guy was replaced several races ago by Steve Hmiel...haven't heard much about how he and Junior are getting along.

Crew chiefs are HUGE in nascar. I think the switch from last year was a big mistake. I look for more changes from DEI for next year, especially with Michael Waltrip leaving. Jr will be back.

Do you think that Waltrip will get another ride? I know that his career hasn't been great, but he is very popular. I don't know when Toyota is getting intoNascar, but maybe Darrell could have him driving a truck for him in the meantime. The only thing that I'm not sure about is if Toyota makes an 8-cylinder sedan.
I have a feeling that Jr. has just about written this year off. But, his nature is so competitive that at this point, a win is a win.

There has been talk that when Toyota makes the leap to Cup cars that Waltrip may play a big role.

Waltrip is most likely going to run his own cars next year and keep NAPA as his sponsor.
As for the original question Jr's struggles are about 85& crew chief,10% the new aero rules and at this point 5% between his ears.Totally unscientific of course.Next year he will have Tony Eury Jr. back and he will win 4-8 races and be right in the hunt for his first trophy.

Yea, I like Jimmie Johnson, he is my favorite driver. I was just proposing that question.

I would like to see Rusty and Mark Martin win one more race this season.
I've really changed my views on Stewart lately. He used to be such an a$$.
He has mellowed.

While not a Jr. fan I do not envy the guy. He has a huge shadow to walk under from his father and his father'sorganization. His biggest problem is the constant switching and changing in his organization. He and his team cannot develop a rhythm to their operation and get used to each other's strength's and weaknesses.

I think they should start making Dale Jr.'s car out of the new material they are making their beer bottles out of. It's that unbreakable/unbendable aluminum mix. At least that way his cars won't look like accordians every week. He'll stay cooler and for longer, too.
