As I have already said; Billy G is an outstanding young coach whose attitude will fit right in at UK.

At first I thought from uk fans perspective GREAT hire, after hearing about the 2 dui's and the academic cheating....I think ok hire. Sounds like a former coach named Sutton and we all know how that date ended.

Iwould not compare him to Sutton.....he made a mistake years ago and moved on..kind of like Willard at UL..Pitino and the fans forgave him and now he is coaching somewhere else

I really don't see what the big deal with the DWI is. He admitted he made a mistake as do many of us from time to time. He didn't try to hide it. He said he has learned from his mistakes and I am sure he wouldn't want to mess up a good thing at UK by doing anything crazy.
BTW one of them was a suspected DWI which was dropped when he went before the judge.
He refused the breathalizer when he was pulled over then the cop let him go. Then later came to his house and arrested him. Then when it went before the judge he threw it out.

I'll hold my judgement until he coaches a season. I still think Mitch should have went after a bigger name.

Who is a realistic big name that UK could have gotten that would be worth it.
Really I think he could have gone after Izzo but he has been at MS so long I doubt he would have been willing to leave there.
Riley is a Pro coach he would never leave there to come to UK at this point in his career.
Billy D said no thanks and who could blame him after winning back to back. Also he has a good thing with recruiting going on down there. Having sand, sun, and hot chicks all over the place is a pretty good recruiting tool. Not that UK doesn't have its fair share of hot girls. We are lacking in the sand and sun department.
Calipari? No please what has he done outside of this past year and a couple at UMASS his teams to always fizzle out in the earily rounds of the tournament and he has been proven to be a major recruiting violator also.
I think Mitch did pretty good! Billy G has buzz about him turning two programs around. Also he is relatively young in college coach terms.

I just dont see why UK wants a coach with 5 years under his belt and no elite eights. Is 5 years and 1 sweet sixteen enough for UK fans?

I'm not sure, but I would guess Riles is younger than Rich Brooks.
