That says it all....thats what it is all about. And I think that Billy G feels the same way. When he teared up at the pep rally I nearly peed myself. And then I fell in love with our new coach right then and there. Because he 'gets' what Kentucky basketball is all about.

When ever i see this picture i start to tear up as well. That is my all-time favorite player. He was the most talented, the tallest, the fastest, but he had more heart and dedication that anyone i have ever seen play. I seriously miss that guy just as much as this team has.

It breaks my heart every time I see that photo. What a Wildcat Chuck Hayes was, and how he deserved a Final Four! Again, that photo honestly breaks my heart, for I so loved Chuck Hayes and so badly wanted that Final Four and chance at a national championship for him. Like others, tears roll down my cheeks when I look at that photo.

However, I SO AGREE that such love for the Kentucky program is what we want to see in more of our Wildcats in the future (and I want ALL our players and recruits to see that picture as much as possible). May THAT happen, PLUS the happy ending of a Final Four and national championship for those Wildcats. :)

Chuck Hayes was my favorite player too. After his last game, I took off the hat I was wearing (a very comfortable hat I might add) wrote #44 under the bill and have not worn it since then. He was the type of player evry team needs. No matter what he had to do he did it. He gave his very best( which could not match the best of some of his opponents) and beat them night in and night out. Give me a player like Chuck any time. #44 needs to be hung high from the rafters in Rupp.

Heart and Soul he may not have been born and raised in Kentucky, but he knows what it's all about. I sincerely hope when his NBA playing days are over that he will want to make his home in his adopted state. Basketball coaching, politics, business, whatever he chooses to do next he will be a success. Actually I think I read somewhere that he may like to go into broadcasting. He would be great on the UK Network, TV or radio.

I have never had such a hard time letting go of a player after his UK days were over.

GO BIG BLUE!!!
