REALLY interesting article.

The part about basketball coaches being "second-hand citizens" in Texas is something I've never thought about.

great article...glad that some down there see the positive in his move. I love hearing that coaches all across Texas will consider it an honor to send kids our way.

Great find!! It's nice to see that Texas is wishing him well...tells you quite a bit about how much they thought of him there.

Great article. Especially the part about him dreaming of UK's 8th National Championship.

Very good article. Sounds like there is some class in the Lone Star State.

You really do live a sheltered life Mr. Writer. Hello Football has and always will be king in Texas.

Oh yeah, that's obvious.

But the fact that it would make high school coaches form a bond because of their secondary status is something you don't really think about.

Thanks for the link, Big Blue 75. It's still another good read. What a nice tribute from the Texas writer, who understands that Gillispie had to chase and live his dream. Too, when I read about that down-to-earth personality, I fondly think back to watching the press conference on television, and I'm sure you think back to being there in Rupp for the pep rally. :)
