just a word of caution folks....
we've got lots of time before midnight madness so let's don't think this thing to death and bury Coach Billy G. or create problems that aren't there before he coaches a single game for the Cats!!!!....
i'm starting to see doubtful posts slooooowwwwwly starting to creep in....let's don't let speculation and the unknown seep in and put a wet blanket on the forum....
i think we're going to see a new UK with next season...it'll take some patience probably....but let's give the guy a break....he's proud as a pig in slop to be herre.....let's stand behind him;)
ok, carry on ....

Anyone who is posting negatives about him already are people that just enjoy misery. Everyone else I think will give "Billy Clyde" time. Hopefully he will take us back to top of NCAA Basketball. Then ESPN and the rest of the media can jump back on bandwagon. ESPN just do me one favor when we reach the elite level again, Leave DICKIE V in ACC country. HEIS NOT WELCOME IN LEXINGTON.

:thumbup i'm with you on that...there's no reason for us to lag and lag and lag into obscurity, no reason AT ALL!!!....and i think Coach Billy G is going to see to it we don't...
not trying to blast anybody for thinking and posting freely about concerns or what not....and there haven't been too many, what i've seen so far you can count on one hand...but when you get antsy and impatient because you're not seeing any immediate results it's easy to get itchy and worrisome....but there is a lot of time until midnight madness so let's rest assured that Coach Billy G. is going to bust his tail to get this team back on track and "cut some nets down" (his words!:thumbup)

I havent seen any negativity, except from lil' brothers fans of course. But dont worry about it coming from me.
I posted here once how I thought it was cool he beat the Harlem Globetrotters and people thought it was ridiculous. But hey we have the right guy for the job and things are going to get better.

Don't really see where you are getting your information. the posts on here have been OVERWHELMINGLY positive since Coach G's hire. Don't see your point on this one.

They must be coming it at a snail's pace because I haven't seen any on WCN.

Geez, I can't imagine anybody posting anything negative ALREADY!!!....Well, yes, I guess I can. But, it is sad. There has been one press conference and then negativity? I am excited about the future with Coach G. Wish the season strarted today...

not tons...the biggest percentage has been positive....but there's talk of his DUI's, comments on his eating habits, comments on him burning out because of his dedication, comments on his press conference responses.....not trying to start any arguments or bash anybody's posts or tell people to NOT have concerns or whatever or censor anyone, just something to think about...don't want to see OVER-speculation seep in because it's going to be awhile before we see the real deal when the season starts....again, just something to think about...not trying to offend anyone or start any forum wars or anything

I have read some of the posts you are talking about but i must point out almost all of them are responses to articles post from the PRINT MEDIA. The DUI issue was raised by the Louisville rag, his eatign and work habits by articles written in Texas papers. Very little if any of that stuff originated from our fans and 99% of the responses were either indignation about media smears or statements of support. This is a non issue IMO.

I hope we don't build the new coach up too much and put him on a pedestal too soon. UK bball will likely struggle next season, in fact, we could have our worse season since the 14-14 season back in 89' or whenever it was. I hope our fan base will be realistic and reasonably patient and not try to run Billy G. out of town after we drop a few games. Meanwhile, there is too much else to do now than to worry about basketball...

you're probably right...maybe i didn't read the posts thoroughly enough or whatever, maybe missed a line or 2....it's certainly a non-issue with me....personally i''m thankful we got Billy G., i think he'll do this program worlds of good....he's been called by some a miracle worker....besides none of those "issues" bother me....i think after some adjustment time happens we'll be leaps and bounds better than where we've been the past X amount of years....besides he's totally pumped that he's at UK....all i was saying however, is that i hope the non-issues don't become an issue....i remember the panic about Tubby will never leave, the panic that we might get Crean or Brey or Izzo....just hoping mole hills didn't become mountains....that's all....

As far as I am concerned, anyone who has anything negative to say, I would prefer they say it now. Either they are wrong or know something. I would prefer they say it up front so we don't hear a bunch of crap, one way or the other, later.

ok, this is what i'm talking about....read the initial post "Situational Ethics" ...pretty recent post....that's my point....
the poor fella has not been here a week and now speculation and tabloid mentalities are rearing their heads....whether they be from outside sources or from the WCN....
not that i disagree with ethics being a factor in a high profile coaching position, but i won't respond to that post via this post...but that's the point....there's so much time that's going to go by between now and March Madness and i just hate to see Coach Billy G. get ram-rodded before he coaches a single Cats' game....
but hey, that's life i guess...oh well, i'll let it go and hopefully close this topic ....
Go Coach Billy G. and Go Cats!:wildcatface:wildcatface:wildcatface:wildcatf ace:wildcatface:wildcatface:wildcatface

OUCH!
Too, I think it's great that almost everything has been POSITIVE. Too, though, as someone said, everything is not going to be rosy, and we fans will need to be SUPPORTIVE of Coach Gillispie during the "thin" times, along with the "thick" ones. Yes, I think we will enjoy a lot of those "thick" times with him, of course. :)
