my hatred for Texas A&M has really subsided since I left Texas, but obviously the rivalry is still going strong between the two fan bases...say what ya want about Billy G, but the man has gotten it done at two schools that had no business playing basketball, he's a winner.

Who cares if the team members take easy classes or easy majors. They are only hurting themselves for that. Is that really cheating? Or just taking classes that are going to take up the least amount of time from your practice.

Texas A&M athletic director Bill Byrne responds (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/stories/031507dnspoamreact.126d54b6.html)

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Texas A&M athletic director Bill Byrne acknowledged Wednesday that a lack of access to appealing majors affects many Aggies athletes, but said a new university studies major that will be added in the fall will help address the problem.
....................
The limited choice of majors for students with low GPAs is a university-wide problem, Byrne said. Many popular majors have high minimum GPA requirements. The university studies major will allow students to study subjects they're interested in without needing to gain acceptance to that department, Byrne said.

Essentially what Byrne is saying is that absent "easier" majors these kids would have a tough to impossible time graduating.
Sounds like they don't have a choice, given the GPA requirements of the popular majors.

where was the initial post I seemed to have missed it. I am the guy that predicted Uk would get Billy G remeber?

I think he will win a lot of games for Uk. I think he will provide a lot of ammo for both side on this board. I boldly predict he will get #8 for UK!
