So, it's anonymous prediction time (unless you want to reveal yourself)

Personally, I think Gillispie's recent comments about his current group of Cats was him saying that his perimeter is better than he anticipated.
I think he wants Lucas, but I think he knows he can win without Lucas.
He needs some front court players.

The perimeter isn't what I'm worried about. I fully expect our competition to attack us in the paint. Carter hasn't logged much time in due to injuries that have lingered since his junior year in highschool. Stevenson will be a gem but by the looks of him, he may not be ready until his junior year to really peak. Whats left is even more inexperience. Hope I'm wrong. We could really use an impact player be it a center or a forward.

I still suspect Gillispie BADLY wants Lucas. Too, regardless, he doesn't get Patterson if he doesn't get Lucas, at least in my humble opinion.
I'm afraid it's more likely that both of them go to Florida, but theyCOULD both come here. Patterson could go to Florida, and Lucas could still come here. IF I were a betting woman, :lol:I would say that there is NO WAY Patterson comes here without Lucas AND that no other school will get the services of either player. :)

I completely agree.... HOWEVER, getting a player like lucas would fill our need for a true point guard that we have been lacking since Rondo. Getting this guy would free up Meeks JoeC and Ramel to look to score and take a lot of pressure off of them when it comes to Handling the ball. This need is about as big as our need for an impact player down low IMO.
If we land patterson, great, but if we don't we can still hope that Carter (who no one has really seen much of at all), Stevenson (who, i agreeis prolly a year or two away),OrStew step up. Thats just hoping though.
With that said we needboth if we intendon really competing next season (something i wasn'teven expecting to be talking about two months ago so I am fairly content at the moment:lol:).

You lost me at "true" point guard and "rondo". Not a knock on Rajon, but he was far from a true point guard.
Rondo was a true point. He couldn't shoot at all and maybe you didn't like the way he was used, but he is a pretty classic point guard now that he is in the pros. He is not a score first guy. He is not the greatest passer I have ever seen, but he is more of a passer than a scorer IMO.

I think if Coach Clyde can sign Patterson, that would pretty much lock up Lucas, too.
