I hope this doesn't spook Patterson away. This kid looks decent, but I know Patterson could be a defensive and rebounding force immediately.

There's nothing wrong with having 2 guys on the team that are 6'8" 230. :thumbup

I doubt that it will. Any kid that shys away from competition, especially at the next level, probably ought not to be playing in the first place. If anything, it'll probably motivate him.:thumbup

Anyone have any stats/info on this kid. I can't find anything at scout.com. I dont think they even knew that we were recuiting this kid.

Not a whole lot of stuff out there on this kid but we need bodies in the frontcourt this year so we'll take him. He's listed as a 3-star from scout.com but I am wondering if was knocked down after he suffered knee injuries to both knees.
Edited:
According to his rivals.com profile, he averaged 18pts, 12rbs his sophomore year. He put up 24pts, 23rbs in one game last summer. Pelphrey is also recruiting him.

Are you saying that you believed him to once be a higher rated recruit? I am assuming that this means we have two scholarships remaining, correct?

I am speculating because he suffered the injuries prior to his senior year and I am not sure if that hampered his game. But since he dominated one of the games just last summer, I would think he was fine so there was plenty of time for his rating to be adjusted. However, and this is interesting to me, he is being pursued by some big schools like us and Arkansas while Pettigrew is not (also a 3 star). These coaches tend to know more than scouts do.

I have never watched Pettigrew in action, but the difference in BG's reaction to Miller at Mason County, and Pettigrew could not have been more different. As Kentuckians, we always want to believe that our product is better. When someone from out of state comes in, however, and has no biases whatsoever with regards to his evaluation, you have to take stock in that assessment. The bottom line is, BG did not see what he needed to see out of Pettigrew, and this aint his first rodeo.
