His glowing personality grabs you in an instant. Maybe it's his smile. Maybe it's his casual demeanor.
His on-field exploits also capture attention. Maybe it's his 5-foot-9, 228-pound frame, which he could utilize to bowl over a linebacker when he gets the chance. Maybe it's his speed, which could allow him to easily run around that same linebacker....

I wonder how the hurricane is going to affect his senior year? I know at school tonight, the dean/my Con Law professor told us that Tulane is essentially cancelling this semester and other universities are accepting their students, so a handful of their law students will be visiting students at U of L this fall. I'm sure the high schools are facing similar problems.

He made a verbal to kentucky. This guy is going to be great. I can already see it. Looking foward to seeing him play at Kentuky.

Am I correct in thinking that his commit to UK was pretty soft---sorta waiting and hoping for an offer from LSU?

Heard Dicky Lyons, Sr. on the radio the other night and, according to him, Moncell is really looking forward to attending UK. He said Dicky, Jr., has been in contact with him since the hurricane and that Moncell will attend a high school in North Carolina where a relative lives for his senior year. FWIW

...Providence Day (3-1, 0-1) had offensive troubles, too. With displaced New Orleans star Moncell Allen on the bench, the Chargers turned the ball over twice inside Latin's 25 and had another drive end on downs at Latin's 19. Allen, a 5-foot-8 tailback who has committed to Kentucky, will join the team next week and should boost the offense...

I think we will pull in some surpise recuites this year. Players gotta understand with the injuries to so many keys players can hurt any team and really really hurt a team like us with littles depth.:)

You're right, DarkLantern. Guys who actually play do fully realize that it's A LOT easier playing against a team thatis missing a lot of its key players or "stars." Let's hope that does indeed help recruiting.
I heard last evening on the Cats' Pause Show that recruits and their families are asking this staff if it will be back next season. No, anti-Brooks folks, it's not that they're hoping this staff will not be back. Recruits have made many comments about how they like and believe in these coaches. Obviously, though, the coaches cannot assure them that they will be back. While I fully realize there is no way the administration can presently say that the staff will be back, that is, regardless, still another problem for UK recruiting. :(

I think for this reason alone, if I was Brooks, I would go to Barnhart and let him know that when they are going out to recruit they are being asked this question and that they don't know how to answer it. Therefore, it could hurt us in the recruiting.
Then if I was Barnhart, I would make a decision within the week about Brook's future and come out. If I was Barnhart, I would come out and make the announcement that Brooks will be back next year. I would continue on saying that the improvement in player's attitude, the hedgeway we are making in recruiting, and lastly the vast majority of injuries we have had gives Brooks another year.
