Will there be any backlash if the 2 recruits don't come our way? I won't name them because I am tired of seeing their names.

More importantly, will there be any backlash if they both go to UF?

UF has already arrived but will this mean they are here to stay?

It will definitely be a kick in the gut to our momentum if UF gets them, but I will not Blame BC for it. He should be commended for even keeping UK in the running with these guys.

I'm more concerned with Billy D. He's sticking that chest out and bringing those trophies with him wherever he goes. If he lands both of these guys, this will show that he can consistently land top talent. I don't want to see that.

I would love for Billy D to take the Miami Heat job, but he wouldn't let me off that easy.

Towards Billy G? I would be extremely surprised if anyone has anything negative to say towards Coach if they don't come to Kentucky. I'm pretty impressed that we are still in the running after all that has gone down. It only shows me that the future is bright, with or without these two prospects.

If they go to Florida, that will probably only increase our dislike of the Gators.

I don't think there is any backlash at all. In addition, I think it further intesifies our stance on the Gators (which is currently unfavorable).

I dont think there will be backlash towards BCG. But really I have a feeling PP will go to Florida and JL is leaning to coming here.

But for what BCG has done in only a couple of weeks mind you has been almost been amazing. With Legion coming next year, the offers for 08/09 and the re-energizing of the entire BBN, plus the possibility of either of the mentioned recruits still coming to UK is AWESOME.

If anything like it has been stated, just solidifing what will be an even better rivalry with UF.

I definitely think there will be some backlash from the uninformed, stupid, clueless UK fans. They will be completely off base, but I will guarantee there will be at least a few posters who will take a cheapshot at Billy G if/when he doesn't get one or either of these guys. Just the fact that we are even at the top of the list for these guys is pretty amazing to me.

There would be no grounds for any accusations towards BCG.

If the dynamic duo does decide to attend UF, the Gators will still have to win on the court. They have underachieved with far more talented players than Patterson and Lucas.

There will probably be some that will start to second guess if Patterson and Lucas decide to go elsewhere. I am confident that if UK misses on these two that there is a plan B in place.

Frankly, I think everyone is just ready for them to make their decision, be it UK or UF or whatever, and get it over with so we can move on. I doubt there will be any backlash. Coach G has been going non-stop since he took the job and I don't think any reasonable fan would blame him if they don't sign with the 'Cats. He's been doing everything we could ask of him to this point. I would love to see Patterson and Lucas in UK blue but the world isn't going to come to an end if we don't sign them.

I agree 100%. It doesn't matter who signs with UF, I want to defeat them with purpose and malice. I don't dislike BD any more now than I did 2 months ago. And I have nothing but praise for BG for not conceding either recruit, and for going after them like a starving dog after a meaty bone. BG won't get every top recruit that he is after. That is a good thing, because we don't have nearly enough scholarships to grant to every one. We just need enough to fill the roster and then we will kick hiney.

No backlash from me. And in my heart of hearts I am more excited to see what our new coach gets out of the players that we do have then by who he brings in his first season.

Backlash?

I read just about every UK related message board there is and I've not seen anything that would lead me to believe there would be a hint of negativity regarding CBC and the loss of Lucas and/or Patterson to Florida or anyone else.

Heck, some have wanted us to quit on these two to the point that it would be easier for me to believe a backlash of they came here. (Just kidding of course).

The excitement CBC has generated will overshadow any of these short term issues.

If Coach wouldn't have signed Legion and Vilarino among the other players offered since he took the job, i might be a little bit more worried. But clearly the guy has worked his butt off to move UK up on everyone's list. I'm just pumped to see that the man is going to go after every top talent in the country to get the best possible roster every season.

There might be a few who grump but I will not be one of them. The last two weeks have really re-enforced to me just how "down" our program has been in the last couple of years. the excitement I hear from many fans I talk too is just infectous.

Backlash? Against JaiPat, sure but not against Billy Clyde. I couldn't imagine it really.

Plus, I can honestly say I don't even care and would rather have Hamga and Sanchez anyway. Though, I'm starting to think JaiPat will come.

I think the idea of a backlash is ridiculous. I think some of us are still in an old era where UK was always worrying about the opponent. Leave that old mentality behind. The tables have turned. Now the opponents have to worry about UK.

Get used to it. Get used to the new and improved UK!

I just picked one of many with which I agree. I, too, think virtually NO Kentucky fans will have anything negative to say about Coach Gillisipie if neither of them comes to Kentucky. Any negative comments would be ABSOLUTELY ridiculous, and I would certainly be strongly defending Coach Gillispie if that were the case, of course. (smiley face). Too, I know that I would be joined by virtually EVERYONE in doing just that.

As you say, Scars, that Gilisipie has "kept us in the running" is alone most impressive indeed, besides his almost unbelievable recruiting efforts, period. As you also say, the future is BRIGHT, with or without these two prospects, especially based on those recruiting efforts we have witnessed. GO CATS! GO BILLY G!

You go, Girl! (Smiley face). Seriously, it's the spring signing period, and most of us have been talking a lot about recruiting. You are SO RIGHT, though, that what probably matters the most is what our new coach gets out of the returning players. Like you, I am EXCITED about seeing those returning players after another year of development and how they respond to Coach Gillisipie's enthusiasm and passion. KUDOS to you for pointing that out to us.

Again, backlash--NO WAY. I think everyone is also SO EXCITED about how intensely Coach Gillispie recruits, besides APPRECIATING those efforts, and that is regardless of how much success Coach Gillispie has with this particular signing class (which has involved such a late start, to no fault of his own).
