Vaught's Views: Seniors moved by UK fans
By LARRY VAUGHT

They didn't get to play in a Final Four and didn't win a Southeastern Conference regular-season or tournament championship in their final two seasons at Kentucky.

Yet seniors Bobby Perry, Sheray Thomas and Lukasz Obrzut have been genuinely touched by the response they have received from UK fans during their barnstorming tour.

I'm so glad to hear that the seniors are having such a good time on their barnstorming tour, and that they are seeing the real support that the fans have for the program and players. I thought it was interesting to see that Randolf has joined the tour now that his NBA season is over. Glad to see that.

Best of luck seniors. You're a class act, and I'm glad you were part of Kentucky basketball for four years.

WOW! What a read! Thanks, Coldstream.

Too, Woo is so right. In fact, I would love for UK recruits to read Woo's comments about how UK fans SO LOVE the UK basketball players.

Yes, Woo, Bobby, and Sheray, WE LOVE YOU.

Could someone e-mail or text message this article to Patrick Patterson? ;)

"I tell them it is worth it to play at Kentucky. I tell them if they get a degree, graduate on time and do the right things, Kentucky fans are going to respect and love you," Obrzut said. "It will all be worth it because the fans love you. Players should never forget that."

What a great quote from a great person.

I wish Woo the best in everything he does. He was never the most gifted on the floor but he hustled and played his tail off everytime OTS called his #.

Now I said that first, bleedbluelady!!! lol Too, we had better put "lol" by that so that we don't get in trouble with the NCAA (as rickdacatkilla is lurking! lol).

Oh, how I LOVE Woo! Too, some folks have been asking about the Barnstorming Tour. I know that it's different this year. Anyway, I would love to know if and when the guys will be visiting here in western Kentucky as I would love to shake their hand and say "thank you" from the bottom of my heart. While I've talked with Bobby Perry a couple of times, I would especially love to meet Woo and and also apologize to Sheray for some of our fans.

The seniors caught a lot of crap from the fans, some of it was deserved, but they always gave their all. That is something that cannot be taken from them.

I would like to know when or if they will be playing in the Ashland area. If anyone knows I sure would like to know.
