I can't believe how excited I was when I was anticipating that Billy Donovan was going to be our next coach. Then how let down I was when he announced he was staying at Florida. It felt like the world was ending. Well, after its all said and done Billy Clyde is the man now, and I don't think Donovan could have generated as much interest and electricity in the program as he has done in the short time he has been here. I remember reading a small article in the Herald Leader about Donovan ending his vacation one day early so that he could get back to recruiting. This article made me think that maybe we had got the right guy. The better guy. A guy that wasn't going to take a vacation at all until he had done everything he could to get the best players available. Heck, it seems like he doesn't even take the time to sleep. It may sound corny, but that old saying "be careful what you wish for" sort of describes our situation. Most fans were wishing for Donovan, but what we ended up with is something that fits our program much better. The big blue nation is back, baby.

Check out the link to see a very nice pick of what could have been. I myself, am very happy with what we have.

My feelings exactly. I thought the other Billy was the only choice and was very distraught when he announced he was staying at UF. I think back on the old Garth Brooks song "Unanswered Prayers". There is no doubt in my mind there is no one else that could have come in here and generated the excitement in such a short period of time the way Coach Clyde has. Two words: Perfect Fit.
