I think this whole thing is just stupid.

There is NO way to police this unless you tell these kids to not have myspace pages. Also, these kids need to learn a little thing called making your page private were people can't look at it or send you messages unless they are friends of yours and they can't so that unless you accept them.

Basically, I have been a member of myspace for a couple years and have had many many porno chicks send me messages and guess what after I opened a couple I learned not to open messages from people I DO NOT KNOW. That is what i boils down to. If you don't want to read the messages don't open them.

Also, I am sure that the majority of if not all are really UK fans but who is to say that they aren't fans of other schools trying to get UK into trouble?

I say all of that to say that it is a issue that needs to be addressed as a whole not just one university because UK fans are not the only ones doing it I am sure.

Well, when I am not on here, I go to myspace and post as UL, Duke, UNC, Floria and Indiana fans just to try and get them in trouble with the NCAA. I've got a myspace page for each school, that way it makes it look real.

The NCAA is going to have a hard time keeping up with the technology that keeps coming out.

I get a lot of spam as well on myspace. It gets old real quick. I go to a couple of the sites to keep up with classmates from hgh school.

dude read what the AAU coach said, also your same fan base was offering Pat Pat the uk dance team if he came to uk(take one for the team girls)....paging Sandy Bell...come on man you have to see a problem with that. Yes, u la k has the most fans of any program, but that count includes the wacked out hillbillys from remote areas of the state too.(I know G-unit you an exception to this rule) Come on man, you have to see a problem with this, uk is the only school in the NCAA that has tried to police this problem....wonder why?

hey I'm just pointing out that some people/adults are a bit out of sorts when it comes to this stuff...the cheating-u was just to get everyone going...Crikey, I'm just trying to fill in for my brother noknees until he gets another moniker and comes back and those are some tuff shoes to fill....

Sorry it irritates your thin skin, BUT, this is precisely the place this stuff should be aired. Like it or not, a percentage of Uk fans are extremely antsy about UK's recruiting and have been for the past couple of seasons. These same fans are the ones probably sending the myspace messages.

Blowing smoke about other fan bases trying to make UK look bad by acting like Uk fans is nothing but a quick (and very ineffective) smoke screen.

This is probably a very secondary NCAA violation and can best be dealt with by fans policing other fans. If you know somebody sending messages like this, talk to them and if that doesn't work, turn them in to UK's Athletic Department. If it is a UL fan and I know about it, I will have no problem doing the same thing.

If you are tired of hearing the "cheater" label, do something to actively turn the image around. UK is the school that holds the record for most NCAA probations. Your alumni have and still do get carried away with their enthusiasm. If it really bothers you, work with UK's A.D, to ensure UK never gets in trouble again. If you hear something slightly funny send an e-mail.

Yuleofell, first of all, no one has any proof that UK fans really did this, for all we know, it could be fans of other schools posting there and claiming to be UK fans. Secondly, there is no way any "rule" against this kind of thing can be enforced.
I'm going to leave that bit about UK having a reputation as cheating alone because that's nothing more than the same stuff you guys always fall back on, but you are DEAD WRONG about one thing. Southern Methodist University has the dubious record of being the most penalized NCAA school.and that's straight out of the NCAA records book. That's another thing you guys dreamed up.

The point I tried to make was everytime this nonsense about cheating has been brought up, even in the context of a smack board, it leads to hard feelings and goes way beyond good natured smack. rickdacatkilla has proven that he knows where to draw the line and I just think he's better than that and we didn't need to go there, that's all.

But hey, I'm not posting here much anymore so if you all want to keep dredging this stuff up, even though there's no merit to it at all, go right ahead. Just don't start cryin' the blues when UK fans start reminding you of how many times in the latter years of Denny Crum's tenure your Cardinals were penalized and how many times Denny boy tried to blow it off as nothing...even though the NCAA didn't think so.

My neighbor skis on the Ohio 2 - 3 times per week and hasn't had any problems.
