You are right. I never felt that we NEEDED Jai it just would have been nice to have him. Brandon Jennings might be a one and done deal but he is insane with the basketball. I think we have an even better chance at getting him now.

I'm trying to be optimistic about the situation...and assume that Lucas and Patterson would have committed on the same day if they were both going to UF. I think there is a chance that his mind could be swayed..but, I believe, Patterson may be a UK lean, at the moment.

I disagree, it is a huge loss. It was a major recruit that UK battled Florida for and lost. He is a great point guard that UK really could have used that now helps Florida twice a year against UK. And after Wed, it could be a major reason that we lose out on PP-a stud PF that we desperately need.

We are guard heavy and have plenty of talent in the backcourt for BCG to work with and succeed.

People are going to turn this into, "BCG can't recruit." Many of us knew it would be a tough steal for BCG to get Lucas and/or PPat. BCG salvaged some of this recruiting season with the signing of Alex Legion...who provides us with outside shooting and continues our Oak Hill connection without OTS on board.

The sky is not falling because Lucas decided to go elsewhere....the kid wants playing time right away and it would have been tough to come by at UK.

That's okay. He will come just because we are UK, you know, that's why Lucas and Hamga are coming. lol. You know, some of our fans actually think that we should and will get every player just because it is Kentucky. They don't take into consideration that some of these kids have connections to or are fans of other schools. Not everyone is gonna want to come to UK just because it is UK. I applaud coach Gillispie for his efforts, and I know it might be a long shot in the eyes of most, but Patterson has not committed yet. We still have a shot at him until HE says otherwise. Okay, I have gotten off topic here, ................Like you said, we are not on the top of Jennings' list. I, like you, find it humorous that all of these other folks think that just because we didn't get Lucas that it helps us because now we might get Jennings. If he don't wanna come here, it doesn't matter if we got Lucas or not. We were not on the top of his list before Lucas committed to UF, and unless somthing has changed since I started ranting, we still are not.

Legion played at Oak Hill with Jennings, Steve Smith likes UK, just since we're in the mix now is a good sign....as of now I'd say he is a UCONN lean but a lot can happen...

Secondly, it has been said on this board by many different people on many different occasions that we should be able to get whatever players we want just because we are UK. I would go back and find them and quote them for you, but I have much more important things to do than spend all night on this website. Just trust me, thet are there. I don't have to put stupid words in people's mouths, so many others on here are way too good at doing that for themselves. But, those things were mostly said while Tubby was still here, and people just used it as another stick to beat him with when he missed out on a recruit. My point is just simply that you can't get them all.

We all want the Big Blue to take it all and we all want them to get the big recruits, so we missed out on Lucas he isn't the first guy we wanted and didn't get and he want be the last.
