first off, let me once again give a major thank you to all of the regulars here......it's days like this one that it can be embarassing to be a UK fan. i mean so many posters are raking coach g over the coals for missing out on a kid that we didn't really need. then there are the posters who are attacking lucas and saying downright stupid things. one poster went as far as hoping he breaks his leg. it's really a nasty thing to watch...........

anyway, on to my thread......

call me crazy, but i'm thinking patterson just may be a wildcat come wed. i mean if you just look at the recent quotes he's made about being impressed with coach g's plan, about what type of person he is, and his mom seems to really like him as well. then there's the fact that he's never really been the one pushing the lucas-patterson deal. it's always been brought up by jai first. lastly, i think donovan's flirtations with the NBA might turn off patrick. i mean he's reasoning for waiting was to see what happens with the coaches recruiting. well, tubby's gone and billy is still @ UF. but, then a story comes out about memphis, rumors about orlando. i just don't think patterson is buying whatever billy sold to lucas.

now all of this could be way off. this is by no means a prediction. it's just a feeling i got and means nothing. also, i'll go on record as saying that if we don't get patterson it's not the end of the world.

Thank you for some optimism. I stated this same thing on another thread....I feel we are still very much in the running for PPat and may actually be leading . This is an assumption on my part...and I'm sure many will attack us for being optimistic about the situation. Lucas was not as big a piece of the puzzle as Patterson.

I agree that Coach G should not be attacked at all. Given the short amount of time he has been here we shouldn't have even been in this race. But we were. And it's not over yet. Everyone should give the guy a break.

I think there are a lot of people who need to step back and take a deep breath. I would have welcomed Lucas if he chose to come to UK, and likewise, it'lll be great if Patterson commits to the Wildcats. That being said, these young men aren't the do-all, end-all of college recruits. We're still UK and if a recruit decides he wants to play ball elsewhere, let him.
A lot of people are letting their disappointment get the best of them and they're making knee-jerk comments that are downright silly. We'll be just fine, folks.

Where are all of these "break your leg" posts? KSR or some other over-the-top site? There will always be idiots there claiming to be UK fans and idiots from all of the other schools as well. That is why those sites are not mainstream UK sites. There are so many people who frequent there that you can't possibly know who is who, who are stone cold idiots of this program or other programs. Those sites still want Coach Pertiner to play Richie more. The people that say things like that have no conscience or self-control or weren't taught how to appropriately deal with not getting their way or that other people think differently or have the right to make their own decisions separate from the idiot's. Plus, we don't need another guard this year we need a power forward who can contribute this season.

Gunsmoke, you are spot on with your comments. There have been several off-the-wall posts made but to point them out would be counter-productive and unncessary. I haven't seen any "break your leg" posts, fortunately. Mine was just a plea to get those people who are about to spaz out over one recruit commiting to another school to relax, that's all. ;)

I have not seen any criticism of Coach G or awful comments about Lucas on this site. Perhaps I just missed them.

I haven't either, Caveman.

I was going to post this earlier, but just to be sure I went back and reread all of the threads.

The "worst" thing I saw was variations of "We don't need him anyway". If that's as bad as it gets, it's just another reason to be very proud of WCN.

Well, I certainly have no reason to doubt your word.
I'm not saying there was this great outpouring of nastiness, I just felt like a few were over the line.

Perhaps they were deleted. At any rate, if they can't be found now it means no one else can read them so that's okay.

My bad. I wasn't trying to create a problem where none exits.

Oh, I certainly didn't get the impression that you were trying to create a problem. :)

Maybe there were some posts that were either edited or deleted.

But, like you say, as long as they can't be read now...then we're ok.

I for one believe we will be just fine. Hiring our Coach was just the first event in a turnaround for us. Give him the time he needs and I really believe we will land great recruits and reestablish ourselves as a powerhouse. We must remember, this is not the end - it is only the beginning.

I have not see critcism of Coach G here, and would hope that I don't. He is typically involved with recruits early and is making progress for '08 and '09. The fact that UK's '07 class was not completed when he took over cannot be put on him. He got involved with the best of what was left and made UK a player in the recruitment. He cannot be held accountable for these kids going elsewhere when he never had much time to get involved.

the fact that Billie G kept us in play for Patterson/Lucas, and signed Legion should speak volumes....as for the idiotic fans, there a ton of them on other sites....

just me personally but i feel we are in the lead with pp..i think jai was wanting to play together alot more than pp wanted to,,and then with jai saying he was going to try and convice pp to go to the school he chose kinda makes me think he knows were pp is going or leaning towards, i also feel pp has waited so long to see were jai was going and then pp was going to annouce for elsewere,, again this is all just my speculation ( or hopes i guess )

I'm not as optimistic about PP after seeing three of our "big four" go elsewhere in the last 24 hours. I guess I may just be shell shocked, but it apprears that these guys are making their choices based on relationships with coaches and staffs. I just don't know if BCG has had time to develop that kind of relationship with PP.

I'm just hoping that PP fears mom and chooses UK.
