Listen and calm down people. Lucas is no better than Meeks, Bradley, Crawford, Jasper and Legion- we didn't need him. Lucas is, at best, 5'8 and 145 lbs.

Hamga is listed by scout.com as a 2-star recruit- that's lower than Williams and AJ Stewart. How would everyone be reacting if Tubby landed a 2-star kid?, even Sherary and Perry were 3-star kids. I think that Perry Stevenson will be leaps and bounds better after summer workouts and Clyde's boot camp.

I would rather hold the 2 schollys for a spectacular 08' class than I would waste it on 2 guys that are very questionable. If we can land Patterson and/or Sanchez, then fine but the worst 2 of the four have gone somewhere else. I can't wait to see Lucas just be mediocre at UF.

If you don't belive me about Hamga, check out what Scout.com thinks of him.

I agree that Hamga really isn't the ideal choice, but CBC knows that there is a void to fill in the frontcourt.

uhh...Hamga is better than all of our front court players and scout rankings are not accurate...Hamga was a 4 star prospect as a junior and probably would have ended up a 5 star had he played his senior year in HS...he would have started over Carter/Stevenson and played 30 minutes a game easily...

We will be better next year. I'm more worried about UT, UL, IU next year than Florida, even after landing Jai. Not too worried about Ark either. I think our guys will step up with BCG, we've got good ones here.

If Florida signs Patterson that gives them 2 five star players and 3 four star players (somehow Lucas is listed as a 4 star but still a MCDAA)...I'd be concerned about them too, they'll be young but loaded...

I don't know if he would have started over Carter/Stevenson. We know very little about this kid. What we do know is that he has only been playing organized ball for a couple of years. If he is such a stud, why haven't more schools offered him a scholly? Yes, it would have been nice to have an extra body down low, but I don't think his skills have developed and who knows if they will?

I think that Lucas is where he needs to be. Ive watched this kid play and he has definetly been hyped up to be more than what he is. It would have been nice to have Hamga but I still believe Carter will be turned into a player before its all said and done. And Perry Stevenson will regain his swagar back and be a shot blocking machine. I think Billy Clyde will bring out the best of the whole team and with the newbies we already got we will be a force to reckon with. Maybe not Championship Caliber but a team you wouldnt want to play.

A fellow I work with e-mailed me while I was away last week and said he saw Billy G, a recruit and some other guys getting in a black Escalade behind Rupp, he explained the recruit as being very tall and very thin- he said he couldn't weigh over 180lbs. Stevenson is on track to 210-220 lbs this year, we should be fine if we can get something out of Carter, Stewart and Williams and if PP comes, we will be ready to go.
