after going to Katherine Hall's Funeral yesterday and see a man (Joe B.) that you care so much about ...torn in grief...Recruiting does not seem so important in the scheme of things..Just My Opinion.

CARDSRTOAST, how I understand what you are saying here. Ironically, I sent a PM to a friend the night of the Patterson signing, one in which I stated how UNIMPORTANT these things are in the "big picture." I had been so happy with the signing and then learned of a dear friend's death that evening. The funeral will be tomorrow, and, no, my mind will not be on our recruiting (although I love the Cats and am still so happy about the signing of Patterson--but only in the world of sports, as I call it).
My prayers again go up for Coach Hall and his family. While I didn't know his wife, she certainly sounded like a lovely lady indeed. Nice post, CARDSRTOAST.

I agree, since you especially never know how these recruits are going to turn out. I was fortunate to be a freshman at UK during Joe B's first year, and although I didn't know her, I am sure she had to be a rock with some of the criticism's leveled at Joe during his years there. But Joe replaced a legend more than adequately, something that could not be done at UCLA after Wooden left. I know that Katherine must have played a big part in keeping Joe strong, and it has to be tough on him.

My prayers go out to Coach Hall and his family. It's a huge loss for Kentucky as well.

You're right. Sports aren't important. They are where we go to get away from what's important.
All our heart felt prayers for the Hall Family.

So true, Bombastic Blue. So true.
Too, on a positive note, I thank God for sports, and especially UK sports!
