I have not seen any official times posted for the Patterson press conference.

According to this link (http://www.herald-dispatch.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070513/SPORTS02/705130364/1002/SPORTS), Patterson's presser is scheduled 3:45 pm. I'm assuming that is Eastern time.

Thanks partner. Hopefully with the number of big names already commited to UF, it will vitiate the possibility of PP heading that direction.

hopefully it will, but what happens when/if it doesn't? What happens if we go 0 for 4 with these guys? Are the people going to go after Billy G, does it look bad for top recruits next year that we couldn't land any of these guys?

If we go 0-4, I'm sure there will be some people on these boards (hopefully not WCN) that will go after Billy G. It will not be warranted, IMO. He's had a month-and-a-half, and he managed to snag a top-50 player in Legion.

If we strike out in '08, that'll change some things. I don't see that happening, however. Again, IMO.

Our people will not go after the guy. There is no way. There may be a small fraction of the number of people that try to jump on this thing, but it will be completely unfounded. In addition, I don't think that this will hurt future recruiting. BCG can make this whole thing go away with a fun and competitive season.

I would hope this would not happen here or anywhere. The fact that pp and jl didnt bolt after tubby left is a testement to bcg.

I completely agree but you know how some "fans" are. I can just see this thing getting a little ugly if PP goes to Florida tomorrow.

I just don't see this getting ugly with BCG. I think most KNOWLEDGEABLE UK fans realize he has already surpassed expectations just by getting Legion. You don't work as hard at recruiting as BCG and it not pay off. I think in a season or two we may look back and actually be glad these kids passed on us, when we have better talent sitting on our bench. The likes of Willie Warren and Brandon Jennings potentially coming could make people forget this minor setback. Looking at it from one perspective, I almost got the feeling Jai went to UF because of the lack of competition on thier roster. It almost looks like he was afraid he would be recruited over and not see as much time as bigger name recruits coming in after him. JMO.

IMO Billy gets one year to get comfortable--starting in 2008, if we go 0 for 4, I might get concerned. These kids would have all been gravy if we had gotten them.

I don't know if you guys were the same way, but back when Tubby left, I said to myself "there is not a shot in hell we get PP and Lucas". Despite that, we still made a serious run at the end (I know, I know, so did Billy D).

This brought the fans down a notch I do believe--with or without these kids next year, I think this team we have coming back, although not the most talented, will be very fun to watch. A good gaurd laden team can always make things interesting (kind of like UT).

3:45 is a funny time. I suppose it allows them to set things up after school, but it's still a bit strange.

Wouldn't surprise me, given how all this has played out, if they didn't set it at 4:12. Or 3:58. Or maybe 5:07.

That'd be hilarious. He sits down at 3:45 and just stares straight ahead. About 8 minutes later, he looks to the cameras and says, "I'm declining to speak first...". (Tactic #19)

(NBC's "The Office", for those of you who thought I was losing my mind....:icon_lol: )

Actually I was just checking out some of the other boards and this type of reaction is already taking place.

"Can't close the deal"

"Just another Tubby"

etc.

Once again fans such as these make me proud to be a UK fan (sarcasm in place) :shrug1:
