"I sent Patrick a text message as I walked in to make my announcement," said Lucas, the 5-foot-10, 160-pound son of former NBA coach John Lucas. "He said congrats. I hope to see him come with me."

With the current signing period coming to a close on Wednesday, Lucas says he decided to attend Florida just 20 minutes before he made his choice public. "There's playing time to be had with all their guys leaving," said Lucas. Corey Brewer, Al Horford,Joakhim Noah, and Green all declared for the NBA draft after winning the NCAA title.

I just don't see any situation that doesn't put PP at Florida next year. Everything seems to make sense for him to go there and that is what I think he will do.

Well Lucas said he was going to do everything in his power to get him there. If he has already decided on Florida, why would he have to try so hard to get him to come?

Who knows, we thought Hamga was a lock, or at least had UK very high on his list and he ended up at UNLV. To me, since the last few days have been unexpected whats to say PP doesnt pull the enexpected decision and sign wth UK???

Jai also said that he had no idea where PP is going so maybe that's why he said he will persuade him to UF. He made that remark just yesterday before his announcment.

If JL didn't decide on Florida until 20 minutes before he walked in to announce it, how come the message boards were full of reports he had decided upon Florida from early that morning?

To the point, yet accurate... good thought.

I don't know, many players (going all the way back to Ralph Sampson) seem to vacillate back and forth right up to the last minute. Doesn't mean they are lying. They sometimes schedule a presser just to force them to make a decision that they otherwise have difficulty making.....

How is it okay for a signed Lucas to "talk" PP into going where he is going? Why isn't that practice a violation?
