View Full Version : Everything happens for a reason

I try to remind myself of this constantly. It's a phrase that I try to incorporate into every part of my life. Everything happens for a reason. It may not be evident at the time, a week later, or even a year later, but it will become clear somewhere down the line. Case in point-had Rodrick Rhodes not decided to transfer to USC, Ron Mercer would very likely have went to UT. Had that happened, he wouldn't have been here to score 20 points in the '96 Championship game, and Syracuse may have changed the outcome of that game. If memory serves me correctly we only won 78-69. The point I'm trying to make is all this "Black Monday" crap could be a blessing in disguise. We'll have more scholarships for '08, and there is some kind of awesome talent in that class, alot of which have UK high on their list. Deep breath. Relax. Everything happens for a reason.

That's a good one, but the rationale that I'm going with is that OTS would have landed both PP and JL if he would have stayed at UK which means they are bound to be busts.

It's not "rationale" if it doesn't make any sense.

I'll clarify my sarcasm since you're a little slow. Tubby's McD recruits from '03 didn't exactly live up to the hype.

I don't understand your comment. Is that a jab at Tubby the players or both?

Okay now I get it.

So which is it, sarcasm or not?
The first sentence indicates that you were joking; the second sentence tells me you were serious.
And Tubby recruited a lot of fine players. By your logic (flewrir -- sorry, that was me guffawing into my hand) they were all terrible just because Tubby recruited them.

What does this mean? Are you saying that Tubby recruited only busts? Or are you saying that the fans would have inevitibly found those players to be busts? I am having a hard time following... sorry... I am a little bit slow.

I now see your follow up, but it does not change the fact that your aforementioned idea on Tubby's recruits has been vitiated by the fact that he has several that are very successful in the NBA right now.
