why are you all down cuz we didnt get lucas. Im dissapointed in not getting hagma because we needed a good solid center, and dont even start to say Carter, cuz hes good but not great........we already have tons of gaurds we didnt need lucas that badily

I don't think that anyone is devistated, but any time you lose out on a big time prospect, it has to be at least somewhat disheartening. Whether you have one guard or five guards, it always helps to have the best guard. :shrug1:

I liked Lucas as a prospect because of his family tree. His dad was a warrior at MD and in the NBA. His older brother was an All American-caliber player at OK State who made the NBA. Good basketball runs in the Lucas family, and I'll bet he's smart as a whip on the court as a pg.

You're correct, UK is guard loaded next year and losing Lucas doesn't affect us the way losing a big man does. But Jai Lucas will be a very good-to-great college pg. Kentucky can always use a talent like Lucas.

Saw on the other board where Jay Bilas wrote an article for ESPN Insider today pretty much ripping Lucas and Patterson. The posters said he ripped Lucas especially hard. Questioned whether he would be a solid college point guard.

are you supposed to be excited we missed out a big time recruit? Nobody on here is crushed but I think you have to be a little dissapointed that he turned us down. Nobody likes rejection.

He basically says they're prima donnas who must love the attention and are only getting so much hype b/c they've waited so freaking long. He is unhappy the media has covered it to such an insane degree. Calls Lucas a "small guard" like Drew Lavender who won't make an impact next year. Thinks Patterson is better and may develop into a pro. Kind of a nasty piece to be honest...

I don't think folks are jumping off bridges. For me I saw Lucas as a way to get Patterson which is our biggest need.
