What about Greg Monroe? Or Willie Warren? I thought he was ready to commit.

Willie Warren was going to commit, then his mother asked him to look at all the options before signing...Monroe is a long shot as of now, probably an LSU lean, Jennings is probably leaning toward UCONN but we're making some good ground with him and the fact that he and Legion were on the same HS team helps...I think we can legitamately get Warren and Darius Miller, we're also going after a few top PF and I"m sure we'll land one of them...maybe Tyler Zeller/Tyreke Evans/Deandre Liggins, one of those three should commit....

I believe Jasper's development this year determines how hard we go after Jennings. If Derrick shines like I think he will, the point wouldn't be that big of a concern, especially with Vilarino coming in '09. We'll put more emphasis on post players like Zeller, Liggins, Monroe, etc. That said, I love Jennings' game and would love to see him suit up in the Big Blue, even if for only a year or two.

Are we recruiting Evans now? I'm not a huge fan of him.

If DJ shines this year like some of us predict, I would really like to see him out on the wing and not at the point. To me you have to weigh his ability to slash, cut and get to the baasket if on the wing, versus his ball handling, passing and created mismatches he would create if he played the point. Im very partial to the "true" point guard (Law, Acie) that can pose a threat as a driver, ball handler, shooter, and floor leader. I don't really see those qualities in Jasper right now and feel if he improves his skills would better suit us at the 3 spot next year.

Not just for DJ, but I think it will be interesting to see how many of the players change / adapt to Coach G. I sure hope the play of pounding of the ball for 20 seconds between the circles has been forever ripped from the playbook. With Rondo & even DJ last year, I felt we didn't start our offense until there was less than 9 seconds on the shot clock. I think the play is called panic & heave. The players panicked while the fans heaved!
