Looks to have ruled out Duke. Interesting.

Off-thread, but I think Tipton was stunned a little bit with the Matt Jones thing.
The man has been on fire these last two days. Rivals broke one story yesterday, but I believe Tipton broke the other two.
And there have been quite a few people -- some of them in the know -- today guessing that it will be Duke. Interesting indeed.

I think Tipton knows something. I would check the LHL website often tomorrow.

Just spoke to Alex Legion (who will be joining the Sports Mob on Thursday at 5 pm) and he told me this about Patterson, “I spoke with him about it the last few days. He is pretty torn right now and you know with Patrick, he is really hard to read. But I have been telling him how much we want him and he knows that. I think Duke is pretty much out of it and it is between Florida and Kentucky. But I think we got a good chance.”

What's weird about this quote is that AJ Stewart said almost the exact same thing more than five months ago.
I think Stewart even used the phrase "he is really hard to read."
Funny.

maybe Legion convinced him enough??? Anybody know how close they are? Would he rather play with Legion or Lucas?

Legion has said in the past that Patterson is hard to read. I think PP is headed to UF with his buddy. He knows where he wants to go. The fabricated drama injected into football and basketball recruiting these days is sickening.

I don't think that Patterson really considers Lucas a close buddy. So I wouldn't let that worry me too much. Legion is as much as asset in the PP decision as Lucas.

What are you referencing Will? When Matt said Tipton continues to only break news of players NOT going to UK? Or something else? The local media has really stepped up their recruiting converage the last month or so. Glad to see it. Before this week Tipton hadn't broken a story in 5 years it doesn't seem and suddenly he has 3 in one day. He seems to have decided to actually start working again, which is a nice change.

Matt had a blog entry calling Tipton out a couple of weeks ago. Tipton wrote an article scoffing at Gillispie's recruiting pitch to Patterson, and Matt (rightly) called him on it.
I can't help but think that Tipton took that to heart. I've never seen the man work so hard.
