I have to say I was wrong. And I've never been so happy about it in my life. I was 95% sure based on people in the circle that he was attending UF. The kid did a stained glass Gator head for his senior art project for god's sake.

So, I made a mistake as we all have, but I'm owning up to it and telling you that this is the first time I have been so sure about where a kid was going to college and been wrong.

But again I've never been SOOOO happy to eat crow.

Will you finally tell us your sources, or which team you coach? I cannot see why you would not at least tell us which team you coach?

I had my opinions on this situation. The pessimist in me said that Patterson would end up at UF. I've been burned a lot with these recruits lately and I just went ahead and marked it down, and if he did come to UK, I would be so excited. Well, here I am, and I can't even describe this feeling. As I said then I hoped I was wrong, and I am more than happy to take responsibility for it. David Lee was close to the situation and he swore PP was going to Florida.

I know, but you were challenging people to a wager... I am wondering if you took anyone up on that? I guess you just have to consider the source!

As close as the schools were in this race, I think that he has probably waffled back and forth between the two schools at times during the past few months. So there were likely times when he thought he would choose UF. But for me, I'm glad he'll be a CAT!

I joked about Patterson to UNLV yesterday morning. I just don't think antone had a good read on what he would do, your guess was as good as anyones. I think most people had a gut feel one way or the other, but nobody knew. Heck I could convinced myself it was UF and then convince myself it was UK, I could rationalize both and/or argue against either based on what I saw from Lucas, Sanchez and Hamga.

My sources are the many great AAU coaches and players around this country. As I have stated my sources will not be named nor will I or the team I coach. Be angry if you like but I am a public figure as a teacher and a coach and I don't want to be identified with anything related to a chat board. I come on here and give as close to accurate information as I can, but of course until any kid signs a LOI nothing is concrete from anyone.

Furthermore, after reading the statements from PP and his mom, my sources were correct in the fact that the only two things keeping UK alive were BD's NBA involvements and proximity(and of course a little thing I like to call BCG). I stated that It would be Florida and was very solid on this because that's what many close to him said to me and at the time it probably was but I said if he comes to UK it will be because of family and the probability of BD leaving along with the amazing efforts of BCG changing his mind.
