I was in the first grade when the teacher came in and told us that John F. Kennedy had beed killed. I was installing new cabinets in my house when I learned that the World Trade Center had been attacked by terrorist. I was taking a dump, when I heard, on the radio that Patterson signed with UK. All of these monumental events will be forever etched in my memory. Where were you when you heard the wonderful news that PP had single handedly saved the UK program?

1. I was still daddy's little squirt.
2. Had worked a midnight, heard it on the radio after I went to sleep, and was up all day.
3. Is that when you popped the hemmroids? You know, the bloody califlower patch? :icon_mrgreen:

Did you manage to squeeze out the memories of not being able to beat UK? What about not getting a top 10 class with your coach who has cut down the nets at 3 schools? Apparentely, the past with coaches doesnt mean much to kids these days. Only the past of the program. Face it, Kentucky has been, is, and always will be better that uofl

Last time I checked this area of the board is Rivalry and Ribbing. You tried to bash Kentucky so I had every right to bash uofl. Thats part of Rivalry. And the only thing anyone is ocd about is you finding those stupid pictures online and putting them on here. No one ever said Patterson was our "saviour" we only said he was going to fill up the one big hole we had in our lineup. Show me where a UK fan said something to the extent of "Patterson will save UKs program and lead us to a championship. He is going to be an all-american" I bet you cant because all we said was he fills up a hole for us. Nothing more

You lose the bet. Mr. Patterson, himself, said he wanted to ""To be the savior, to be the person to bring Kentucky back on the map -- (the program and fans) put all their faith in me,"

Patterson said that. Not a UK fan. Yes UK fans have gave him support and have faith in him but show me where a UK fan said he will be our savior. We have faith he will fill the holes we have in our lineup and contribute. No UK fan has said PP will be our savior and make UK a championship team this year. Maybe you need to do a little better research before being so confident.

So, Mr. Patterson isn't a uk Fan? I will be willing to bet you, (let's say the loser can't post for a year) that I CAN provide a link where a UK Fan calls Mr. Patterson a savior on a message board. Want a piece of that, Buster? Remember, there's a lot a message boards out there.

Of course PP is a UK fan. Thats a given. Thatd be like saying you have no life. But where are these people calling him our savior? On this board? Show me then. I know on other boards there are stupid fans like the ones saying they hope Lucas breaks his leg. But on this board, with reasonable fans who have respect and understand what to expect from players, show me where someone says "PP will be our savior" I would like to see it. We arent talking about other boards because this is the only one we talk on. This board. Show me

I never said this board. To be honest, I don't go to your main board very often. But I have to admit that the fans on this board are more reasonable than on some of the other ones. But PP said it himself, and that would concern me if I were a UK fan. Do you think that PP is stupid?

05-17-2007, 04:36 PM
PP is not stupid because he could be our savior in 3 or 4 years. Landing a Mcdonalds AA is huge and has an effect on the next few years in recruiting. We landed 2 AAs this year in Legion and PP and they will fill holes in our lineup and bring success to our program. Kids help recruit other kids. Look at Legion and Stewart talking to PP and even Vilarino trying to get Shawn Williams of 09 to come with him. I gurantee you that Legion and PP have played with future AAs (Brandon Jennings for one) and they can help bring them to Kentucky. So lets say its PPs JR year and he is an all american candidate and averages 20 and 10 and is helping recruit other players and already got a few AAs to commit, he could very well be considered a savior. But as far as his first year, no way. I think PP even knows he isnt that good. But if you look at 2,3, and 4 years down the road, he could help Kentucky in many ways

No doubt about it. But the best players don't always equal the best team. Look at our International squads that last few years.

Thats a completely different league and situation. Kobe and Iverson and KG are all used to being the go to guy and having control of their team. Theyve been doing it for years. You cant throw a bunch of All-Stars together and expect them to have chemistry. But compare it to AAs in High School and see the different. With the exception of Mayo, who this year was being selfish? They were out there having fun together and realizing they have teammates. Kobe doesnt do that. He scores 81 and does it himself. PP had 2 other guys on his team go to college and others who are being scouted. He didnt do it all himself and knows he cant. Not many high school kids think they can. Thats what makes college different than the pros. They play together and try to make it the best team possible. You are only in college for 4 years at the most. You try hard to get that ring. You can stay in the NBA as long as your body can take it
