View Full Version : Let's Play The Number Game

There's been debate on who's the better Quarterback, Brohm or Woodson. Some are on record here as saying that Woodson has better numbers. One thing that some Kittens don't understand, is the quarterback is the General of the team. It's equally important to have a rushing game, as well as a passing game. A good passing quarterback, opens up the running game. So just for fun, let's look at some numbers, from last year.
Points Scored- Kentucky 347 Louisville 491
Points Allowed-Kentucky 369 Louisville 212
Rushing Yards- Kentucky 1,285 Louisville 2,409
Passing Yards- Kentucky 3,594 Louisville 3,770
Total Yards- Kentucky 4,879 Louisville 6,179
More fun facts:
1.Michael Bush scored as many rushing touchdowns against Kentucky (in just over half a game) than Rafael Little did for the entire season.(3)
(Or any or Kat, are far as that's concerned)
2. Anthony Allen scored more rushing touchdowns (12) than the entire UK football team did all season.(11)
3.UofL had 31 rushing touchdowns to UK's 11.
4. Andre Woodson had 61 rushes for a grand total of -137 yards.
Brohm had 39 carries for +33 yards.
I could go on my little bluebelly friends, but my fingers are getting tired. But, you see, a great passing quarterback opens up the running game. I hope that I didn't confuse you, with too many facts.

We scored 59 points, against that great defense, and that was with our star player out for almost half of the game.http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g22/cardinal_photos/141.gif

All your stats mean NOTHING except that you all play crap teams in a crap league!
How many of those rushing TD's were scored against the Temple
Syracuse, UCONN, Middle Tenn, PITT, and USF? Do you really want keep bringing up this conversation with that schdule? It is just STUPID for you keep bringing this stuff up. You should have better stats playing teams like you all play.

It wasnt Brohm that opened up your running game it was you O line. Also the fact that you have a 6'6 reciever that most teams have to double. Brohm has reached his potential as a QB just face it. Woodson is more of an athlete and is only getting better. We had lower numbers because we faced more ranked teams with better defenses. Thats generally how it works. You have more points and yards against a team with a bad defense. You have less yards if you play good teams with a good defense. Its the law of probability. Yea UK had a terrible defense this year thats a given. But tell me with a serious face that we wont be better. Tell me we wont be in the top 25 this season. Tell me that we arent getting better. Tell me that our program is not on the rise with one of the best QBs in the nation. uofls program has been good for a few years and UKs in on the rise. Theres no denying that

First off I wasn't calling you stupid I was saying to keep bringing up numbers that is so obviously skewed because of the weak schedule you guys played was stupid.
Secondly, you never answered my question. Probably because you know that the majority of those TD's were scored against weak teams and you know this that is why you changed the subject to the score against us.

I don't remember the score, but I remember that UK won. But that's all you got, isn't Junior. That football score that I keep mentioning, is just a sober reminder to you. We went on to a 12-1 record and a Major BSC bowl win. So you see, the UK football game was far from the highlight of our year. Congratulations on winning your National Championship game against us in basketball last year. Too bad it still didn't get you in the rankings, like us. Must be sad that that's the highlight of your year. Nice try in trying to change the topic. Gosh, it's Great to Be A Cardinal!

When did I say thats the highlight of my year? Now you are making stuff up. You keep mentioning the game like its your championship so I mention the bball game. We split them last year. So you bring up one I bring up another. Yes uofl has a better football team. Everyone understands that. But we had one of our best seasons in years. And won a bowl against Clemson (who beat the team you played if I remember correctly) There is nothing wrong with us celebrating a good football season. And regardless of the basketball rankings, you ended up just like us. Out in the second round, with pretty much the same record. Need I mention the easier schedule? But regardless of what happened last year, both football and basketball teams for each of our schools will be ranked this year and it will be fun to watch. Just dont be suprised when we give uofl a run for their money in the football game this year. Especially with the best QB in the state throwing for the Blue and White

The best QB in the state of Kentucky should be able to complete a pass in the first quarter against their rival. I had just as many completions as Andre to start last years game. I still think Hunter Cantwell is better than Andre.

Hunter has a much better arm from what I have seen. If he got the reps that Brohm got with the first unit I bet his decision making would be much better (not that it is bad now) and he might be as athletic if not more than Brohm. Just an observation from the few games I went to last year.

I said he was and the reason that he doesn't start is that the fan base would go nuts if you sat a Brohm for guy they don't really know and wasn't that big of a star coming out of high school. But Hunter has got mad game and he will be as good if not better in the NFL as Brian when it is all said and done.

Hunter and Brohm are both better than Andre, but because they cant both be starters the lesser quarterback has to sit. I really didnt think i'd have to explain myself this much to you, but then again i am talking to a UK fan.

I would argue that Hunter is just as good as Brian too. But no chance they sit Brohm. Not after all of the hype and everything coming out of high school. Sports is all about hype. It used to be just the pros but now its even college. Protect the superstars remember. If you have the name then thats all you need
