1) UK's verbal commitment of Trevino Woods (OL, 6-5, 283) from Clarke Central HS in Athens, Ga is humongous. I've always said it's imperative to get the 'big-uglies' early because they tend to get overlooked late and they also tend to stick to there word, as opposed to skill players who love the attention and generally make life a living hell for coaching staffs across the country come Signing Day. Woods' addition helps the staff put the offensive line situation behind them and focus in on replacing skill players Rafael Little, Andre Woodson, Keenan Burton, Steve Johnson and Jacob Tamme, who all leave this year.
4) Hate to say I told you so about D.J. Stafford (DE, 6-4, 255), but I freaking told you so. The kid had no shot of qualifying and anyone that believed so was completely out of the loop. Coach Pardue at LaGrange was very upfront and clear about his situation throughout, telling assistants and analysts that he needed to prep at Hargrave before going to college. As I said on Signing Day on WVLK, on Kentucky Sports Radio, ESPN Radio and on Kentucky Sports Report, Stafford's not headed anywhere but Hargrave. That's why Georgia pulled out at the end. The manuever will cost the 'Dawgs, as I believe their handling of Stafford's situation on Signing Day will cost them if he does indeed qualify after prep school. There is still a chance he might not qualify coming out of prep school, but he's worth the wait and the chance.
