not sure what this kid was thinking. i hate to see any kid get in this kind of situation. makes you wonder what in the world the kid needed with 7 guns??????? i hope the staff waits until all the facts are evident before they decide to pull his scholly. which i do think should happen if he did indeed commit this crime.

Just which Ul players committed crimes after they had signed their letter of intent? In fact, the only UL players I can think of who have gotten into any kind of trouble in the past few years are the two idiots with the paint ball gun. That was a stupid practical joke gone wrong and they sat the whole year. ( Actually they didn't sit they ran a LOT. But they did not play)

Slick Willie Williams this past year! You all offered him after he had already been in trouble a couple of times. Council was also in trouble at one time or another while at UL or right before. There are couple more too and you know who they are you just don't want to own up to it.

But I do agree with you that UT fans don't have the clean record it would take to say anything to any other school about anything like this.

Its a given that every school will have athletes who have problems. We are dealing with 18-22 year old kids in COLLEGE. People do stupid things in college. If you tell me that you went to college and NEVER broke a law then I call you a liar. Its just that these kids are looked at a lot more closely than any other student. And it isnt a bad decision on the fan base for wanting the kid or even a bad decision for the university for wanting him. As far as I know this kid has never been in trouble like this and has a good background. Its just that kids make bad decisions. The sad thing is that even if a kid has been in trouble and he is a top athlete, it gets overlooked. Its all about politics and making money for the school. If Greg Oden got arrested for robbery or drinking and driving do you think he wouldnt have played college basketball somewhere? Its all about politics.

read it careful..I'm saying yes, UofL has taken some risk on kids by giving them 2nd chances and it has paid off..Willie Williams was interview by Jurich before even meeting Coach Krag and if TJ gives him the ok then you can bet the kid will most likely work out. Also, his Juco coach is the one that called TJ and told him that he was a great talent that had learned from his past and had 0 off field issues since inrolling there.

Now Vol boy, After reading some of those links, why would any sane Vol fan be on any web site talking smack about UofL. I seriously think you are here because you don't feel safe around your players. When they hand out a Tennessee uniform it's just a warm up to the Orange Jump suit they will have to wear before they finish college. It is amazing we got Montrell, hell all he did was smoke tree, but the thugs they kept that pointed guns at Police and started fights must really be good players...

I personally think that for either one of our fan bases to talk smalk about this stuff is dumb because both school had had their share of players with legal problems. But you know as well as I do that UL has had plenty in that situation either before coming or while in school.

Well the guy that this thread was started for has not joined the team yet. So it is not seen yet if he will cause a problem while on the team and he has not been convicted of anything yet. While Willie Williams was in trouble more than once and was convicted before he was even recruited by UL.

Basically like I said NOBODY on this site should be bringing this up about any new player since both teams have done it and will do it. But, don't act like your team hasn't done anything like recruited a player with prior problems the fact that they don't cause problems after they are recruited and are on the team is really irrelevant.
