The way that it is right now, I am glad that I was honest all along, and admitted that I never really followed the baseball team. Don't get me wrong, I thought last year was really cool, but that there was a johny come lately factor with a lot of the fanship.

Its called playing good teams makes it harder to get into the post season. But you would know nothing about that in ANY sport. The Big Least is not as good as the SEC in any sport!

Its pretty sad when our debating comes to a sport that doesnt get on TV until the playoffs. Well we beat you guys in chess. Dont forget our debate team and the shuffleboard teams swept the series this year against you guys. This thread is pathetic IMO. We split the series with you all. You going to the tourney shows nothing more than you played an easier schedule. Football, you all won, but we still both had good seasons and won a bowl. Basketball, we won, and even though you guys finished ranked higher we still both got knocked out in the second round.

You know what is really funny is that when UK was great last year and they were ranked in the top 5 it was who cares about baseball it means nothing. But this year since UL just made the tournament and UK didn't then you are talking smack about it.

I will give credit where credit is due here. At the risk of my Wildcat brethren disowning me, I would be giddy too if I were a UL fan. Especially if I were a fan dating back to say, the early '80s. the turnaround has been remarkable.
I would love a UL-like rise for UK . . . even if that means playing in (and winning) a lesser bowl for a few years. Baby steps!

You have to admit, the move to the Big East was HUGE for UL . . . without it, no shot at a BCS game.

By the way, I may in the minority around here, but I think the bowl win versus Clemson and the win against the defending SEC champ (Georgia) are bigger than UK's win on the hardwood versus UL.

Like I said, baby steps!

You have to go back TEN YEARS before you find us not in a bowl game. And the past three years Louisville has shown they can beat anyone and belong with an elite group of teams. 3 years ago UL was a Kerry Rhodes dropped interception from being in a definite BCS bowl, possibly national championship. Two years ago UL was a blown offsides call against WVU from being in a BCS bowl. And last year 1 bad quarter, or a michael bush injury, from the national championship. Sorry, we're here to stay.

We are going through the same things you all did. You played in little bowls and won and thats what we are starting to do. Only we beat good competition during the season. You all play maybe 2 good teams a year. So we are taking baby steps just like you guys say you did. But we are coming up a lot faster than uofl did. We have one good year and well be ranked next year. It took you guys a while to do what UK is on the verge of doing. And CN you say it was our championship to beat you in basketball? Look at yourself. In almost every argument on here you bring up the football score from last years game and say "we are ranked higher" it sounds to me like beating us in football was your championship. And if you look last year, we were one bad quarter from beating florida, one play from beating USC, and a delay of game from beating Tennessee. That would have been a BCS bowl for us because instead of 7-5 on the season we would have been 10-2 on the season. It works like that for us too. And yes our basketball coach left us, but where is Petrino? Is he still on the sidelines over there?

You have not made me angry to begin with if you think that you talking about UK gets me mad or angry then you have another thing coming. I have heard it all I have tons of friends that are UL fans and they spit the same buch of crap that you do so everything you come up with is nothing new for me.

The only thing new you come at me with is the complete lack or respect for UK or the majority of their fans. If you said stuff on here that showed respect you would see that I am a respectful UK fan when it comes to UL. If I showed some of my friends some of the stuff I type on here they would not believe it is me because I don't talk like this about UL but I am sure not going to let some UL fan talk like you guys do without getting called out on it.

If you really want to share what I told you then go ahead that would just show the type of person you are and the type of person you have shown yourself to be.

UL went from 1958 till 1991 without winning a bowl game.

UL is 6-7-1 in bowl games.

Brooks is a good coach and he may do what John L. Smith did for UofL, but top 20 for good is a stretch. It could happen but i dont see yet.

I wasnt being rude or arrogant I was just simply telling you to re read my previous statement and understand the time frame I was speaking about. Kentucky football is on the rise. We have an amazing amount of talent returning next year and have great freshmen coming in. Having a winning season and going to bowls helps bring in recruits. It helped last year and well do even better this season. Winning bowl games gets better recruits and getting better recruits leads to better seasons. UK is no more than 3 years away from being in the top 25 for good
