I love how people say "I wouldn't coach in the NBA for 6 million if I can make 3 million in college". That's easy to say when the 3 million difference isn't being offered to you.

To me it's an easy list. Think of all the great pro coaches and write them down, then do the same with college coaches. Which list is longer and more memorable? (hint: It's not the pro list)

Either way you look at it, 3 million a year isnt too shabby

For me, it would take a lot more than $3 million more to coach in the NBA. I would never leave a good college job for the NBA. I just don't get it.
Of course, in the case of Donovan, he is young enough so that he could go to the NBA for a few years, just to say he did it, build his financial nest egg, and then have his choice of college jobs when he decides to come back. So, maybe for him, it makes sense.
