Question for Womens Hoops fans?

I noticed that Ark. plays in Bud Walton and I know that UT plays in Thompson-Bowling.My question is,is UK the only team that has a seperate arena for the women or do some of the other schools do this also?

It seems that every away game for the Lady Cats ....the game is played in the same arens that the men play in........

In the SEC at least, UK is the only team where the men and women play in different arenas.

Could this possibly be because Ky has the ONLY off campus arena. If not mistaken, all of the other SEC schools have "on campus" arenas and thus own them whereas UK's women's team play in Memorial for most games?

It probably comes down to dollars, as in less cost to use your own on-campus arena. Plus, the atmosphere in Memorial for a women's game is awesome. The average crowd would not create the same noise level in Rupp as it does in Memorial. With seating in Memorial reduced to about 6000due toconstruction of the practice facility, the home crowds are usually close to full.
