When I typed this post at 4:32 AM there was 75 days, 12 hours, 43 minutes and 46 seconds left until the first official kickoff of College Football. After watching the NBA Finals, I think I speak for the entire country in saying, please someone hit the fast forward button.

1) The Kentucky-Tennessee all-star game should stop the insanity of playing in the middle of June. This game is never gonna make money, anyways, but at least the game would occur during football season, when fans are more interested and the players are in better shape. Tennessee continues to complain about not being able to get its best players to play. In December, they would. It could help get some of these kids more exposure, like the Shrine Game does for recruitable football players in South Carolina. With schools asking kids to enroll earlier and earlier for conditioning, it's wise for UK and UofL to get involved in moving the game as well, so their recruits can enroll in school at the earliest possible time instead of having to wait until they complete their all-star game, as NCAA rules prohibit kids from playing in all-star games while enrolled at a college. Play the game in Rupp Arena or Freedom Hall in December. If they can put down the carpet for an arena football game, they can put it down for the all-star game. Why put it in a stadium for 60K people when only 300 show up? Keep it in the cozy indoors in December.

2) Jody Demling from the Courier-Journal first reported the new scholarship offer of Louisville (Ky.) Trinity HS offensive lineman Sam Robey early Sunday. My first thought was to wonder aloud what the heck the UK football coaching staff was waiting for in the first place. The 6-foot-4, 235 pounder had already been rumored to be a UofL lean even prior to the Cards becoming the first school to offer the two-time all-state offensive lineman. The 'Cats being the first to offer might have helped the Wildcats make up for any lost ground for Sam, the son of Rick, who was an All-American at Kentucky on the 1978 National Title team under Joe B. Hall. Now, they are playing catch-up and they could've been ahead of the game.

Seems like a silly idea, if they can't fill a 60K stadium maybe they should move it somewhere smaller like Papa Johns, or seriously, somewhere like Georgetown College where the Bengals also have their camp.
