Thurmond Making Camp Rounds

WR Marcus Thurmond (6-2 195) of North Augusta has offers from Maryland, Middle Tennessee State and SC State and is getting to as many camps as possible this summer. Last Saturday Thurmond worked out at USC. "My mom had long talks with coach Ron Cooper and Steve Spurrier Jr, and she said they both could not stop talking about my speed and how much strong I had gotten since last fall," Thurmond said. "They both said after watching me on Saturday that I am definitely a scholarship candidate and that they will be in touch. That's always exciting, to be recruited by one of your dream schools." Sunday Thurmond was at Middle Tennessee for a camp and spent a lot of time with head coach Rick Stockstill and offensive coordinator G.A. Mangus. "He (Stockstill) kept on saying all they wanted was just a fair shot at me, and for me to hear them out later this year when they come to my house." Monday Thurmond was at Clemson where he talked with receivers coach Dabo Swinney. "He said they already had committments at receiver, but that I jumped to the top of the list if things change. Clemson has been honest with me since the beginning and I appreciate that." Thurmond will also attend camps at Georgia, Tennessee, Florida State, Kentucky, Maryland and Auburn.
