Paintsville (Ky.) Johnson Central HS quarterback J.K. Ratliff broke his collarbone as a junior but is using this summer to get his name out and prove his worth.

The Kentucky native recently finished off a stellar performance at the University of Kentucky camp and is eyeing a possible offer to the Wildcats after a strong performance.
"I liked it really well," Ratliff. "I threw the ball real well. In fact, probably the best I've thrown. It was nice to get my arm soar from throwing footballs, instead of baseballs."

I graduated from Johnson Central in '05, and will definitely vouch for his character and "degree of UK loyalty", lol. He's a fine guy, and all the Johnson Central fans are definitely looking forward to his senior season.

With the 2007 Kentucky high school football season just around the corner, players that have yet to receive college scholarship offers know that their senior year will be a key opportunity for them to up the ante. A good season, even a great night with the right coach on hand to scout, could mean that long awaited offer from the school they really want.

J.K. Ratliff, a 6-foot-4, 195-pound quarterback from Johnson Central High School, is hoping to do just that. He has attended all the right camps and combines and now readies himself for the campaign ahead.

"We started back in April," Ratliff said. "I went to the Elite 11 camp down at Georgia, then I made the Nike training camp. I finished up with the UK camp and the Auburn summer camp....
