Regretfully Zach Hennis is on medical scholarship and can no longer play due to a reoccuring shoulder injury. :icon_sad:
Our RB depth may be the best I have ever seen at UK. That is nuts. Clearly the key will be OL. We seem to have the bodies, which frankly is a first under Brooks, but still have a ton of questions along the line.

Little is a talent but a lot of it is as a returner. Higgs & Logan are still tops in my book when looking strictly at RB accomplishments. Time to change that though.

Leger looked pretty good at RG last year. That Beets is ahead of him speaks well of Beets.
Here's how I see it shaking out:

Not much to quibble about.
I don't think Duncan is ready to be #2 at LT. I expect Alexander to back up G. Williams at that position, with M. Williams backing up Jeffries at RT.
I think the Johnson/Lyons battle to be the #2 WR will be interesting, as well as the Ford/Jones battle to be the #4 WR.
I think Smith beats out Dixon as Little's backup.
I think Tydlacka kicks off, and is the long FG kicker whereas Seiber is the short FG kicker (35 yards in).

I don't know about that; they were great, but so were Moe Williams and George Adams . . .

If Leger is healthy, I think he may be a starter. I also think that David Jones showed real improvement in the spring. If he continues to improve at WR, I think he will be fighting for a second string position. I also think that Dixon and Smith will be running 2A and 2B as backups to Little. If one gets a little dinged, I think the other will step into the backup role.

Hard not to consider those two for the top RB at UK distinction.

No way, man! Sonny Collins, had he not gotten injured was the best hair ever!
Seriously, I wonder how he would have done with 4 years, and he still is UK's all-time rusher.
By the way, with a 1,000 yard season, Raffy would move into third position behind Sonny and Moe.

No argument, but they didn't play at the same time - as Logan & Higgs did - the RB depth discussion here I think. Logan & Higgs are UK's #6 & #3 all-time career rushing leaders respectively & finished school one year apart - as Little & Dixon have turned out to be. Neither of them though are in UK's top ten career rushing leaders yet.

Something to consider. Not chopped liver. Of course, Moe played only three years?

RV, why are some of your players in blue font? Also, why is Strickland listed as a FR since he played last season? Did he get a medical RS? Thx.
I like Alexander better as a LT with his agility. And as much as he needs strength improvement, RT is rougher for him IMO.

Sorry - my post wasn't very clear. The guys in blue are my take on where they might be this fall on the depth chart.
As for Strickland I believe he participated in less than 20% of our games and was shelved for the season due to an ankle injury which eventually led to his leaving the team so I think he falls under the medical redshirt umbrella.
I don't disagree with you on Alexander but I think he will play at RT before Mike Williams but hey - I've been wrong before. :shrug1: My hope would be that we could redshirt one of the O-linemen that haven't been able to and Alexander would be my pick if I were choosing.

I love our depth at that position, Jim. Antoine Brown impressed me and Mr. Poodoo at last year's Fan Day scrimmage. I also read that Brown impressed the coaches during the spring. Like you, I would not be at all surprised if Smith beats out Dixon. GO CATS!!!

I could see that happening, but Dixon seems to be a fighter. Just when you think he is down, the forges forward, even if hurt.
Smith needs to improve his receiving game. If he can catch the ball out of the backfield, he will get a lot of time on the field. Getting a guy like that into the open field could be a devastating weapon.

You make an excellent point about Dixon, Caveman. Too, I love that we have SO MANY running backs that can contribute: Little, Dixon, Smith, and, again, even Brown.
In other words, I really like our depth at the position. Having said that, how I hope we have a HEALTHY Rafael Little this year. Just think how our offense would have looked last season if THAT had been the case, and it looked mighty good as it was. GO CATS!!!
