1) The latest news on Lamarckus Boswell is as follows. The 5-foot-9, 165 pound wide receiver from Greenville (SC) is in fact, going through workouts with the team. But, he is still awaiting word on freshmen eligibility from the NCAA. Therefore he's not enrolled in school.
Not to play "Negative Nancy" on this one, but if you recall, I contacted 'Boz' several times this past year, closing in on signing day and each time, Boswell told me that he was "good to go," and that his test score had been received. Come Signing Day? No mention of his name on the release. According to a staff member, both Ameer Salahudin and Boswell were telling the media things that were blatantly untrue. Will it workout? Perhaps, he'll get his clearence from the NCAA office and enroll. Until the official word comes out, though, I'd be cautiously optimistic. If you remember, Boswell was working out with the team a year ago in Lexington, when he moved up from Greenville following his senior season and working in the athletic department.
2) Speaking of Ameer Salahudin, the 5-foot-11, 175 pound cornerback is at Holmes JC in Goodman (MS) right now attempting to make the grade and enroll at a school in the near future. Salahudin was a great talent coming out of high school and was a surprise non-enrollee. It'd be interested to see if the staff would take him a second time around.
