for the average UK fan?
Up to now, other than making note of a recruit signing a LOI, I never really followed recruiting all that much, if at all. NOW, I find myself checking every day to see which recruit we're targeting, which blue-chipper has added the 'Cats to their list. etc, etc. I have to say, this is just flat FUN stuff! :icon_mrgreen: :widcat:
As I've said before, I'm looking forward to this basketball season probably moreso than I have in years, and watching the way the recruiting is developing and the possibilities thereof just makes it moreso.
Feel free to comment if you like. I just thought I'd throw my two cents in on the subject.

It's awesome, and borderline overwhelming. Can't remember the last time I felt waaaay behind on my Cats if I hadn't checked the WCN and KSR multiple times a day in LATE JUNE.

I've always tried to ignore recruiting to some extent. There is so much misinformation thrown out there, you never know what to believe and what to ignore. But these days, the remarkable transformation that has occurred in UK basketball recruiting has pulled me in.
Four months ago, it seemed like you could count on one hand the number of top recruits listing UK as a possible destination. Today, we not only are filling up this year's roster, we are filling up the next couple years as well. The more kids who commit, the more others seem to be interested. The recruiting momentum continues to build. Many of us expected BG to recruit well at UK, based on his success at other schools. But I expected it to take a year or so before the players started lining up to play at UK. It has only taken a month or two. Recruiting doesn't guarantee success on the court. But your odds go up exponentially when you have talent to coach with. Not all coaches could have won the 1996 NCAA championship with the talent UK had that year. But most would have had a very, very successful year, regardless of how good or bad a coach they really were. Talent doesn't guarantee success. But it sure makes it a lot more likely.

For the first time in a longgggggg time we have a staff and head coach that know how to recruit at the highest of levels. Given this staff's work ethic and Kentucky's resources you aint seen nutting yet baby.

Actually the Randolph Morris recruitment was the last time I was really excited about it as I am now, we had Rondo/Crawford/Bradley in the fold and needed a big time post player....signing of Morris had us all dreaming of multiple banners...turns out we didn't even win our conference
