9. Kentucky
2005 rank: 12th
2006 rank: 12th
Big jump for Kentucky after a bowl win last year gave the Wildcats some momentum going into this season and took Rich Brooks off the hot seat ... for now. 'Cat fans want to get into their football team but Brooks has to have back-to-back years with hope to keep it going.

Pat Tooley knows nothing about Kentucky football. If he was stupid enough to predict us 12th in 2006, I lost all respect for him. The signs were there for a big turnaround.
If we're anything less than in the top 6 or 7, I would be disappointed.
GO CATS! Prove 'em all wrong!

I agree. Honestly, I wonder where these magazines get some of these so-called "experts". I'd be willing to bet that the majority of sports fans have no clue as to who they are, but we're supposed to take their word. :icon_rolleyes:

To the extent this analysis means anything, it shows how poor our DL performed vs against the rush & pass. That said, I agree. We have to play better here if we're going to have a good season. The number of times we just plain lined up out of position at DE & SLB was pathetic. Positioning seemed to improve as season went along.

Can someone explain why everyone is so high on Georgia? Dooley has them 3rd in this article.
I know they are "Georgia" and they always recruit, but look, they lost to Vandy and Kentucky last year and those two teams have virtually everyone back.
I'm just confused by the Georgia hype.

It's mainly predicated around which Georgia team you buy into from last year. The struggling Matthew Stafford, leading the team as a freshman QB that gave UGA little room for error against teams or the last three games Georgia that absolutely owned Auburn on the plains, defeated Georgia Tech and overran Virginia Tech in the second half of the Peach Bowl (yeah, yeah Chik-Fil-A, whatever...).
If we're to claim that the Cats should be judged on the second half of our 2006 then Georgia should be viewed in light of their last three games. 2006 could have really gotten away from them and Richt deserves a lot of credit for that run over three ranked teams.

I watched that entire GT game and that was a complete fluke. GT dominated them and their QB just gave the game away. Stafford is going to have to be leaps and bounds better than last year or they are going to struggle again.

In the world of offensive musical instrumentation the patdooley is an ugly oversized blow hard instrument akin but just a few measures below the prehistoric, aboriginal didjeridu. This obnoxious instrument of glutteral tones has little or no value in modern society.
