(1) As I teased yesterday, Kentucky is recruiting a player to add to its 2007 recruiting class and replace the scholarship intended for troubled Covington (Ky.) Holmes WR/CB signee Duran Jefferson, who is highly unlikely to get out of his legal troubles up in Northern Kentucky and ever make it to campus. With Jefferson's future in doubt, the 'Cats are looking to move on with Moncks Corner (SC) Berkeley HS free safety Omar Brown, who they recently offered a scholarship to for the 2007 recruiting class. The Wildcat coaching staff received a surprise visit from Brown, only days after his high school graduation, as the 5-foot-10, 175 pounder sought the chance to enroll in the fall. Last year as a senior, Brown recorded 100 tackles, 11 interceptions and 25 pass breakups in route to a first team all-state selection and an invite to the North/South All-Star game.

Is John Logan still on the team? Gidel says UK can enroll 22 this fall. I can only count 21 that UK can enroll this fall, because it has 61 returning scholarship players from last year (this includes Pulley and Strickland), admitted 3 in the spring, and is limited to a total of 85. The difference between my count and Gidel's is that he is not showing Logan still on the team. I haven't heard that Logan has left. Has anybody else?
